General overview
Cozy home near the Black Forest and Swabian Silicon Valley
The space
Our house is a duplex with a backyard and a creek behind. For hot summer days, we have a pool, and for cozy winter nights a wood-burning oven.
There are three levels.
Level 1 consists of a music room with a Bechstein piano and an iMac computer, another small room, and the washing machine in the entrance area.
Level 2 is where the kitchen, dining room, and living room is. There's also a guest toilet. Level 1 has floor heating below the hardwood floor, all other levels have radiators.
The bedrooms and the bathroom are on level 3. You have to walk through the first bedroom to access the second bedroom, and the third bedroom is behind the second.

Neighbourhood
Our house is almost 100 years old but we're constantly updating. The train station is only 2 minutes walk, the neighborhood consists of family homes.
Located between Tübingen, which is often named as the Swabian Silicon Valley, and Herrenberg, the Autobahn is only 6km away.
The Black Forest is as close as Stuttgart, so you can enjoy the city as well as beautiful nature.
Some highlights in the area include:
- Porsche Museum
- Mercedez-Benz Museum
- Cannstatter Wasen (second biggest volksfest after the Oktoberfest)
- Bebenhausen (12th-century Cisterian monastery)
- Hohenzollern (11th-century castle)
Lake Constance is about 1hr 15mins drive and Switzerland about 1hr 25mins.
There are also lots of activities for families, such as the indoor fun park Sensapolis, indoor and outdoor waterparks, lots of hiking and biking trails, the Wilhelma zoo, caves (Traumland Bärenhöhle), and frequent farmers and artist markets and festivals all around.
Our town has everything you need: three bakeries, one meat market, one supermarket (Penny), one permanent farmer's market, and a few restaurants from traditional Swabian to more upscale cuisine.
Getting around
You can use the train to get around, but some sights are only accessible by car.
Distances:
Tübingen - 9km
Herrenberg - 9km
Stuttgart - 40km
Calw (Black Forest) - 30km
Überlingen (Lake Constance) - 140km
Zürich (Switzerland) - 189km

My 8-year-old daughter and I love to explore the world. I'm an aspiring minimalist and try to live a sustainable lifestyle. We highly respect other cultures, are open to learning new things, and want to broaden our horizons.
