Neighbourhood

We currently have it parked at our home which is just opposite the Free Railton RV park (for full self contained vehicles ) So we can set it up for you to stay in there which is walking distance to the town or chat to us about moving it to another site for your stay (plenty of free camping in Tasmania, or pay camping fees at your cost). Railton is a small town in North West Tasmania which is only a short 10mins drive to Sheffield (Which is know as the "Town of Murals") 20mins to Devonport which is a main town. Our big attraction is the world heritage listed "Cradle Mountain National Park " which is located only a short less than an hours drive away. There and lots of other sites, like, lakes, waterfalls, beaches, walks, hikes, bike tracks and tourist spots only short drives away to explore and enjoy.

Nearest airport

Our closest airport is Devonport with is only 30mins away. (It currently only services Qantas) So best airport is Launceston which is 1 hour away or Hobart airport is 3 hours away.

Getting around

A car is best to get around in Tasmania as not a lot of public transport. So you can bring your car from mainland Australia on Ferry from Melbourne or hire one here. We are happy to do an exchange car or loan ours when not in use. Chat to us about this :

Pauline and Cameron

Hello We are married Couple in their 50's with grown up children. Pauline - Irish born , but grew up in Western Australia, - Cameron - West Australian born, and now live in beautiful Tasmania. We are both easy going, friendly , non smokers, we enjoy a glass wine, meeting and chatting to new people. We love to travel ,we would respect and look after your house, happy to look after your dogs, as we miss ours when we travel :) Looking to go to the Australian QLD Coast during winter (June- Sep) each year for 2 - 4 weeks in 2024 Would also love local Tassie swaps :) Looking at USA /Europe in 2025 so happy for you to come here now and bank a stay for 2025 :)
