Neighbourhood
The Vondelpark is right next to the house, also Leidseplein is a 3 min walk as well as Museumplein (Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijkmuseum, Rijksmuseum)
Getting around
There's a grocery shop around the corner and I would suggest to bike around the city, if you prefer oublie transport there's trams and busses right around the corner that take you to central station or anywhere really.
