General Overview
Welcome to our mountain oasis
As our summer winds down we are looking to travel over the next few school breaks Nov 20-27 and Dec 18-Jan 3 . We are open to beach and mountain destinations !
If you love nature, you will love our cabin! Our slice of paradise lies in a rare temperate rainforest in the Appalachian mountains. At 4000 ft elevation we are one of the few spots in the South where summers are cool with most days in the 70’s ( June -Aug) .
No matter what season you visit its magical in the mountains ! We have a long beautiful fall with brilliant leaf changing , and it’s highly likely that if you visit in the winter the skies will be blue .
We designed and built our 800 sq feet modern cabin as a way to connect with the nature. Surrounded by glass you will feel like you are living as one with whatever season is upon us. A cool crisp fall day with stunning colors, a snowy night cuddled by the wood burning fire or a spring thunderstorm.
Our cabin is in the forest surrounded by nature if you are looking for seclusion, a quiet place to read , work or reflect .
If you wish to venture out and explore you will find many charming mountain towns within 20-30 minutes .
2023 travel Leisure votes Highlands the best small mountain town in America! Cashiers, Sylva and Franklin all less than 30 minutes away, there are numerous options for fine dining, live music, breweries, golf, farmers markets, hiking, waterfalls, zip lining , white water rafting, and fishing.
If you love fly fishing Jackson county is know for its fly fishing trail . Beautiful rivers and streams surround us .
The stunning Blue ridge parkway is 45 minutes away,. smokey mountains national park and town of Cherokee are about an hour.
The closest airport is Asheville, 1.5 hours away. Greenville SC airport is 2 hours, Atlanta airport is 2.5 hrs hours away.
The closest attractions to the cabin is Lake Glenville, and the hike to High Falls, just 10 minutes away. Lake Glenville is the highest elevation lake east of the Mississippi . Beautiful lake with 3 waterfalls flowing into it . Great fishing , swimming , & boating !
There is also plenty to explore with out leaving the cabin. We have 4 acres of land with a beautiful winding creek with brook trout and dipping pools to splash in. We have 2 fire pits, a pizza oven, a hot tub, and numerous hiking trails. In the summer we put a slide into the creak !
The Space

Kids room has bunk beds, twin over full and an additional twin bed
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the cabin and property. One level cabin with no interior stairs, also no ramp for ADA compliance. You will have stairs that lead to the creek , fire pit & pizza oven.
Notes
If you have kids, they will enjoy splashing around or fishing in the creek or playing in mud kitchen. For rainy days inside we have plenty of board games, puzzles & toys!
**please note if interested in a winter stay the cabin does not have a central heating system . Both bedrooms and the bathroom have wall heaters. You will want to be comfortable keeping a fire burning in the main room to keep toasty ! Also, our road doesn’t get plowed immediately . The local farmer will clear the road after the snow has stopped . Our driveway isn’t plowed & we’ve had to shovel if we want to get out . Your best bet is to stay put until the snow melts ( usually 1-2 days )**
** this is our 2nd “home” not a vacation rental . You will have everything you need in the kitchen, laundry soap , bath products .. etc .
We ask that you take your shoes off as the forest likes to creep inside . We have a basket of house slippers you may use or bring a pair of your own .
We do NOT charge a cleaning fee and kindly ask that you leave the cabin in the condition you found it - including washing & making beds if time allows . We appreciate your help with this as we hope to never have to charge a fee for our PLU family :-)

Neighbourhood
Our cabin is located in the woods 2 miles down a gravel road with a handful of neighbors not too far away.
You do not need 4 wheel drive to access.
We are 10 minutes from lake Glenville with swimming & boating We have a kayak and canoe you can use, but you will need a roof rack.
Getting to my home
A car is highly recommended, Google maps can find us. There is no public transportation in the mountains .
