The Lake District is a stunning part of the UK. There are many Lakes and rivers. Many Mountains and hills to climb. The highest mountain in the UK, Scafell Pike is close by and Beacon Tarn is behind our home, with many walks. Many famous people have lived in the area, Beatrix Potter, William Wordsworth . Close by is The Aquarium of the Lakes, steam railways, World of Beatrix Potter, Animal Park. Lots of good places to eat. Lakeland delicacies include Grasmere gingerbread, Cumberland Sausage, Kendal mint cake, sticky toffee pudding. Lots of fine micro brewerys for real ale lovers.

Getting around

Our closest town is the market town of Ulverston, with twice weekly street markets. Coniston Village is 6 miles away. There are many pubs close by, for good food and real ales. The local bus will take you to Coniston and Ulverston. Train in Ulverston to Manchester, Preston, Scotland.
