General Overview

Incredible location next to the Padre Island Yacht Club!  Open country across the canal.  You won't be looking at other homes across the water because there aren't any.  If you like to watch boat traffic and wildlife, this is the perfect spot. Two-minute idle time to intercoastal waterway.  Watch dolphins, shore birds and beautiful sunsets from our 3 different decks.  Fish over our greenlight for trout and redfish.

The Space

3 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
First floor: master bedroom with king bed, bathroom with shower, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry, deck overlooking the water.
Second floor:  bedroom with 2 twin beds, bedroom with 1 queen bed and large balcony overlooking water.
Lower outdoor level has a deck at water level for boat lift access.

Notes

This condo has a boat lift, but it is reserved for the condo owner unless you obtain permission to use it. 
Our family uses the condo alot of weekends, so some of those may not be available even though they look available on my calendar.

Our condo is on the end of the most southwest finger of North Padre Island.  Two canals and the intercoastal canal all converge just outside our back door.  The Padre Island  Yacht Club is across the canal to our right.  Looking south you can see wide open spaces.

Fantastic exchange experience! Gordon & Linda were great exchange partners, and their home is amazing! Linda has displayed her original art and sculptures indoors, and the entire beautiful landscaped yard is an intriguing sculpture garden with surprises tucked in all around. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the lake activity and the wildlife, including 3 otters! Local venues and many beautiful parks aren't far away. Their home is totally clean, well-appointed and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. Communication was easy and thorough, and we had no issues whatsoever. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful and offered suggestions on things to see and do. We would highly recommend Gordon & Linda as an exchange partner and are honored to be their first guests since they joined PLU! This was a dream come true to finally visit the PNW!

Our week-long stay at Louise's & Dave's beautiful home was just the best! I'm so glad we got to meet when they came to my place in Texas. We found everything we could possibly need, which made us feel right at home. Imagine seeing mountains right out your bedroom windows! We didn't get to see the northern lights on this trip due to clouds on the nights with the best probability, but both of the bedrooms we used had a open view of the sky for us to keep an eye out for the aurora. The close proximity to the parks, and to town was a definite plus, as was the use of a can of bear spray. (Thankfully we didn't have to use it.) This was a fabulous home trade, and it made for one of our most memorable trips ever!

What a fantastic exchange! Kate & Ray have an immaculate, beautiful home that was so well stocked that we didn't have to shop for those extra basics that we all need. If you go, the bed in the room at the far end of the hallway is the 2nd most comfortable I've ever slept on! I looked forward to going to bed each night after playing outside all day. Speaking of outside, the whole neighborhood is a landscaped wonderland, and the neighbors are very helpful and friendly. It's an easy drive from the house to just about everything a visitor might want to see. The San Juan Whale Watching Tour and the Saturday Farmers Market were so much fun! Just being able to stay outdoors all day in the natural beauty of the area/parks was a healthy respite from the blazing heat wave here in South Texas. We joked that Kate & Ray may have saved our lives by hosting us. 😂

The Fosters were stellar guests in our home, and we had great communication. So often, we don't get to meet our exchange partners in person, so we're glad we could be there when they arrived. Lovely home in a serene, peaceful and quiet neighborhood. We loved watching the deer and turkey from the comfortable deck. It could not have been nicer! The proximity to the parks was so convenient we drove to Yosemite several times during our 5-night stay. WOW! Alicia was a great hostess, always available and very responsive. Thank you Mittleman family for trading for one of my globes!
