Plum Island is an absolute gem. The beach is just a three-minute walk from the house, and you can even hear the waves from the backyard. The expansive shoreline is perfect for long, peaceful walks, and it didn't take long before I was chatting with the locals during my morning and evening strolls. Everyone was incredibly welcoming—one person invited me to dinner, another welcomed me into their home. It was such an authentic local experience and one of my favorite parts of the exchange.
My corgi Blueberry absolutely lived her best life here! She made countless four-legged friends on our daily beach walks and quickly became part of the local dog community. If you're traveling with a dog, this is truly a perfect retreat.
After spending time at the beach, I loved ending nearly every evening with a soak in the hot tub before retreating upstairs to a cool, air-conditioned bedroom for a wonderful night's sleep.
Because I had to work online during much of my stay, I especially appreciated the strong, reliable Wi-Fi. When I wasn't at the beach, I spent almost all of my time working and relaxing on the screened porch, which became my favorite spot in the house.
Jean was a wonderful host who made sure I had everything I needed, and communication was effortless from beginning to end.
I highly recommend both Jean's home and beautiful Plum Island. It was a peaceful, memorable stay that I would happily return to.
