General overview
Our home is on Burleigh Hill, within walking distance of James St Village and Burleigh Heads Beach and Natonal Park, and Tallebudgera Creek. Nestled in amongst the trees, the house is completely private from the hustle and bustle of one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist destinations, yet so close and accessible to everything. We often see koalas as the property backs onto Burleigh Ridge Park, a conservation area for Koalas.
The space
The home was built in 1968, designed by Malcolm Cummings, a well-known Gold Coast architect of that time. With light coming in in all the right places the home whilst small is a beautiful place to be in all seasons. It is built over 4 levels - the carport, then up to one bedroom and small brand new bathroom, then up again to the main lounge, kitchen, dining, and deck, then up again to the main and second bedroom and shared bathroom, and laundry. Out the backdoor you'll find another smaller deck with a pizza oven and the nature reserve, making you feel like you're in the bush.
Guest access
This home will not suit people who do not like or have difficulty with stairs, or young babies or toddlers who are at risk of falling down stairs. There is plenty of parking (min. 4 cars), and if you have a Tesla there is a charger.
Notes
We live on a hill, and are within a 5 minute walk to coffee shops, the beach, the local village, and the walk to everything is easy. Walking back up the hill may be a challenge for some!

Neighbourhood
So much to do locally! Behind us is Burleigh Ridge Park with a running/ walking track, and you can explore Burleigh Head National Park and Tallebudgera Creek, go swimming or surfing at Burleigh Heads Beach or just take a stroll along the Esplanade. Plenty of local markets, cafe's, restaurants, shops , or you can order in Uber Eats.
Getting around
So close to everything, but if you need a supermarket there's a Woolworths Metro or Foodworks you can walk to, or you can drive to a larger shopping centre at Stocklands 5 minutes away that has most things you will need during your stay. We call it the Burleigh Bubble, because everything is so closeby we never need to leave the bubble!!
Just down the hill you can catch a bus that goes north and south - so very easy to explore further afield to Pacific Fair shopping centre, Surfers Paradise, or south to Palm Beach or Coolangatta.
