General overview
Hello, my name is Huub and I live on a beautifull houseboat in Utrecht, together with my daughter Lena and en our cat Stella. We live a stones throw away from the centre of the beautifull city of Utrecht. Very close to the trainstationa and the city of Amsterdam. In the heart of the Netherlands. Small but very cosy. With a big terrace on the water and a small boat to go into town.
The space
We live in a housboat, with 2 bedrooms (one doublebed and one single bed).
It has all facilities of a (normal) house:
- central heating
- kitchen wiht microwave and oven, refrigerator and all utilities for fine dining.
- a large table in the livingroom (serves up to 6 people) and two laze couches
- for extra cosiness a small wood stove
- large windows and double doors facing the canal
- a bathroom with a shower, a washing machine and drier
- a toilet
- on the waterside a large terrace (35 m2) with a (beer) table to sit on (6 p), a couch to hang on
and a nice fire stove (with good dry wood) there are stairs to the water (we swim in the water during summer)
- 2 canoes (1 for an adult and a sit on top for a child)
- a large hammock (to relax in)
- an umbrella for the sun
- small canal boat (6 p) with an electric motor and a gasoline outdoor motor (no the newest but you can just get in and see the canals from the water side)
- on the waterside there is an outside shed (with a lot of toys for the water and also 3 rescue vests for children)
On the frontside of the housboat there is a garden (80 m2) with a trampoline a picknick table to sit on (6 p)
- a shed with a mountain bike etc
- a bike shed with 2 bikes for adults and 1 for a child
- playhouse on the waterside
All parts that are on the waterside have small fences (that keeps a small child safe from falling in the water)
- 2 parking lots fin front of the house or parking a car/ camper
Guest access
the houseboat is only groundfloor. It is situated on a small street (that is only acces for people that live there (and visitors). You can get in by car and there are 2 large parking spaces in front of the boat.
It is close to the train station and very close to the city centre of the beautifulll lively town of Utrecht.
Notes
the housboat is situated near the centre of Utrecht, so it's no quiet nature resort. But it combines the city attractions with the possibilty to enjoy the serenity of the waterside.

Neighbourhood
it is situated close to the city of Utrecht which has a lot to offer. Musea, music, terraces, a medieval city centre on the one hand and a lively modern shopping area on the other.
It has beautiful canals and is very green. With the Dom tower as a famous eye catcher
It is a lot smaller an quiter (less touristy) than Amsterdam but has a lot to offer.
The trainstation is very close, in 20 minutes you are in Amsterdam.
You can use our bikes to go into town, or take the boat to see the canals and the water sides.
By train our car you can easily go on a day trip to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Bosch, Eindhoven or to the more greener areas (de veluwe, kinderdijk etc. etc.)
Getting around
you can take the bike, the small boat fomr the house
the trainstation is very close and the trains are very good.
there are buses and tram in Utrecht.
you can park the car in front of the boat and the infrastructure of the roads is very good. The Netherlands is a small country and you go on a daytrip almost everywhere from here. Utrecht is situated in the heart of the country.
