General overview

This is my flat where I used to live for many years. It's on the 5th floor of a newly-built apartment building, so it has a gate-service, an elevator and a terrace as well. The flat is renewed as you can see on the pictures. It's a perfect place if you want to relax, you can sit on the balcony with a cup of tea or coffee and watch the trees and the sky... but you can also get to Downtown within 5-10 minutes walking. All the main sights can be easily reached by public transport (there is a trolley bus stop 50m away from the door) and the main tram line is within walking distance. There are restaurants, bars, ruin pubs, shops, grocery stores nearby. Nice, cozy and silent flat with a vintage appeal and a lovely terrace. - Central, in the heart of Budapest, everything within walking distance - Close to the party district but far enough to relax. Safe area. - With balcony and A/C - Free Wi-Fi (300 Mbit/s) and 96 TV channels (internationals too) - 24h portier/reception - With bedsheets, towels, hairdryer - Well-equipped kitchen - Ideal for families/friends - Suitable for tourists with reduced mobility - Free use of skateboards and longboard

The space

The flat has two rooms and a bathroom, plus the terrace. Living room & Kitchen: a pull-out couch (size of a double bed), dining table with chairs, air conditioner, high-speed internet (wifi), TV, electric stove, dishwasher, microwave oven, coffee maker, kettle Bedroom: 180x200 cm bed - very comfortable! Bathroom: shower, iron, hairdryer, washing machine In general: safety lock

Neighbourhood

What you will love about my place that it's a very central part of Budapest Downtown without the noise and hustle of the main shopping and drinking routes. Just around the corner there is a fabulous coffee and cake shop where they have have gluten- and lactose-free options available as well. And they are soooooo yummy. If you are looking for some peace, walk a little further, there you can find a beautiful church with huge trees and garden where you can chill and relax. If you walk a little further, in about 5 minutes you get to the trendiest part of Downtown, the old Jewish district with its popular bars and restaurants, specialty shops and coffee houses. And you can hop on the main tram and get to Margaret Island for a stroll or run along the Danube bank or other sporty activities. Our other favorite spot is a tiny little market (Hunyady tér) where you can buy fresh veggies and fruits from local farmers, often bio....and it's also less than 10 minutes walk from home. Another great spot 10 minutes away is the huge City Park, available for sports, cultural events, rowing on the lake in the summer and ice-skating in the winter and of course, admiring the Heroes' Square with the Museum of Fine Arts and the Palace of Modern Arts. We love the location as it's very central and still, quiet.

Getting around

Everything is within walking distance so you really don't need a car, however if you happen to arrive by car, you can park on the street (paid parking available only in Downtown Budapest). We have some trolley buses running 50ms away (73,74,76) that can drop you at the metro station and main railway station (Keleti Train Station) that is also less than 15 minutes away on foot. And they can also take you to the heart of Downtown Budapest. The main tram line (4,6) is also within walking distance and it takes you all across town (Margaret Island, Nyugati Railway Station, Oktogon, Király utca - main party street, A38 - the famous boat with the greatest concerts and parties in town). Moreover, if you fancy, please use our skateboards and longboard you find in our apartment.
