Neighbourhood
We live close to the River Crouch, with a local pub and restaurant nearby featured in the photos .A café and clubhouse located in the marina are also within walking distance.
Our neighbours are friendly and helpful, one of our close neighbours is also a regular home exchanger.
Getting around
There are plenty of country walks nearby especially along the river. The local station is only a short walk away and has connections to London and local towns. Shops and other amenities are only 10 minutes away by car. Chelmsford has all the local attractions including an ice skating rink and bowling alley as well as cinemas and theatres. The local riverside towns of Maldon and Burnham are historical, interesting and picturesque. There are local buses from South Woodham Ferrers which is our nearest town. We have a local provincial airport 30 minutes away which supplies flights to many destinations in Europe if you fancy a few days outside the UK during your stay.
Nearly forgot to mention that within close proximity only 10 minutes drive away is Hyde Hall which belongs to the Royal Horticultural Society. It is an interesting venue for keen garden enthusiasts and people who like exploring nature. There are many shows that take place there all the year round like craft and design and classic car exhibitions.
