Neighbourhood

Nice is built along the Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by beautiful hills where most homes are located. Our house sits on one of these hills. Our neighborhood feels like a small village overlooking the sea, nestled among vineyards that produce a distinctive local wine with a protected designation of origin. The area is residential and very family-friendly. Children here are used to meeting up with neighbors to ride bikes along the quiet lanes between the houses. At the same time, you’ll find local shops (bakery, pharmacy, post office) just a 5-minute drive from the house. The heart of Nice is only a 15-minute drive away. Here, the sun shines around 300 days a year, and café terraces are enjoyable even in winter. You can stroll along the famous Promenade des Anglais, swim at its many beaches, explore the charming Old Town, and taste local specialties such as pissaladière, socca, ratatouille, or pan bagnat. Every morning, the Cours Saleya hosts a vibrant flower market along with fresh fruits and vegetables. Depending on the season, you can also visit the many museums, explore the Roman ruins in Cimiez, or enjoy major events like the Carnival, the Flower Parade, or the Nice Jazz Festival. Within less than an hour by car, you can visit the beautiful and well-known towns of Cannes, Antibes, and Menton, or even spend a day in Italy in places like San Remo or Ventimiglia. If you are looking for nature and wide open spaces, the Mercantour National Park is about an hour away and offers stunning hikes in a preserved natural environment, suitable for all levels. Depending on the season (and a bit of luck), you may spot marmots, ibex, or chamois—sometimes just a few meters away. For those who enjoy sports and adventure, the nearest ski resorts (Auron, Isola 2000, Valberg) are about 1.5 hours away. You can also enjoy activities such as via ferrata, canyoning, and river trekking. Of course, we would be delighted to share all our favorite spots, recommendations, and favorite hikes to help you make the most of your stay.

Nearest airport

The airport is a 25-minute drive away.

Getting Around

Nice is easily accessible by plane (Nice Airport) or by train (Nice train station). Our home is served by a small local bus that runs every 15 minutes and connects to the tramway in the city center. However, having a car is very helpful for getting around. We can provide a small 4-seater car for your use, although it is best suited for short trips (Renaud Zoé).
