Very comfortable home with beautiful views of the surrounding woods. Clean and cozy with a wonderful collection of books about hiking and local attractions. A heard of 10 dear came by to say hello while we sipped coffee on the balcony of the master bedroom. Slipping into the jacuzzi tub after a day of hiking was heavenly. Loved curling up by the fireplace to read in the evening and plan the next day’s adventure. The kitchen was easy to work in and had freshly sharpened knives for safe food prep.
Julianne,
We really are glad you and your Mom felt safe and comfortable in our home. As we age, accessibility becomes more of a factor and we are glad that our first floor layout worked well. Thank you for feeding our deer! We loved being at your home and welcome you back again in the future.
What a treat it was staying at the home of Rick and Susan. After a day of hiking and exploring it was wonderful to get back “home” to enjoy the many comforts of their home, such as the hot tub and sauna. If you didn’t want to venture out too far, there were plenty of trails and things to see and do right in the development. We really enjoyed feeding the deer every day.
Lyn and Jen,
We are so glad you enjoyed our little slice of heaven here on earth. We are looking forward to visiting your area soon! We welcome you back anytime you want to visit the mountains.
Susan and Rick
Susan and Rick were lovely guests for a quick hospitality stay. Susan was easy to plan with, very responsive, and considerate of our family’s needs/routine. They were very respectful of our home and easy company. It was lovely to have time to get to know them both. Would welcome them back for a longer hospitality or proper swap.
They were great communicators and left my home just as they found it. This was my first exchange and they went out of their way to help me learn the ropes. Lovely, friendly, honest, trustworthy couple. I highly recommend them as exchange partners.
Fantastic guests! They were quiet and left the apartment spotlessly clean. Could not have had a better experience for our first exchange !
Rick and Susan were amazing!! Very generous, accommodating, and communicated with us prior to, during, and after our stay. They made us feel very welcome.
Hurricane Ian did put a “damper” on things since we were visiting from Florida. Rick and Susan had every reason to cancel but they found other accommodations so we could stay dry and avoid the hurricane by coming to Georgia and staying at their home.
They were very kind, flexible, and understanding with us during this trying time with Hurricane Ian barreling down on Florida. We are looking forward to fulfilling our end of the exchange and becoming “official People Like Us exchangers” as well and hopefully even meeting Susan and Rick. We would HIGHLY recommend putting Susan and Rick on your itinerary.
Lyn and Ken (#10184)
Lydia and Chris epitomize the PLU spirt of community. They were so kind to offer us a hospitality stay so we could take in two days on Oahu forPearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Center during our week long trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. Lydia was very willing to offer suggestions for helping with our logistical planning to try and work both of these sites into our itinerary. Without her helpful guidance, it most likely would not have been possible to see both PH and the PCC. The family was very accommodating and greeted us after a long day 1at the PCC. Their guest room was perfect, individual room air unit, comfy bed, private bath and the softest towels I have ever used! They were so gracious with an offer of morning tea and some great conversation that allowed us to feel like we had connected even though our stay was one night. Chris is retired military helicopter pilot, as is our son, so being part of the military family made our time even more special! We have extended an invitation for the Haase family to come visit us in Georgia and we Joe they take us up on it! A delightful family, warm, welcoming and memorable.
Thank you for such a kind note. I’m delighted all your Hawaiian adventure goals were met. We enjoyed our visit with you and hope our PLU lives cross again. You are welcome back anytime.
We cannot say enough good about what a wonderful stay we had at Elizabeth’s condo in Hilo.! It was very comfortable and well equipped, centrally located and convenient. Elizabeth was a delight to communicate with and she was very helpful in planning our itinerary. Elizabeth made our anniversary’s dream come true
Julianne’s precious cottage was an oasis nestled in the city. It served as home base for all that Asheville had to offer, Biltmore Estate, Grive Park Inn’s National Gingerbread showcase, Asheville Arburetom , Antique Car Museum, Science Museum - I could go on and in! We were in town for a favorite musicians annual homecoming concert, but there was so much more to enjoy. Julianna’s home exudes character and warmth, it is lovingly cared for and beautifully renovated. We are already making plans for our next simultaneous exchange!
Julianne and her Mom plus their sweet pup were great guests! They kept our herd of deer feed while we ere gone and took great care of our home! They were first time exchangers, but you would never have known it. Any host would enjoy having them to share their home!
A visit to Charleston was extra special at this precious guest apartment. Very comfortable bed, AC, kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge/ freezer. Located downtown in a residential area is very convenient.
Our scheduled simultaneous exchange had to be changed to non-sim due to Hurricanne Ian. We are looking forward to our visit in the future.
Lyn and Ken were wonderful guest. This was our first exchange and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience to have someone in our home. They were easy to communicate with and flexible to help us develop an alternative plan when hurricane Ian was headed their way. They left our home absolutely perfect and we really enjoyed having them. They left us the sweetest gift that we will treasure every time we use it.
