General Overview

Our house is very welcoming, and is located right in the historic center of the city, easily reachable on foot from the train and bus station. A large free car park is a 5-minute walk away.

The Space

The recently restored apartment is part of a medieval building, which we share with our fantastic neighbors. The house is fully equipped because that's where we live.

The apartment is located on the second level and there are stairs, about 20 steps, to access it

Notes

Poggibonsi is located halfway between Florence (45 minutes by car, 1 hour by train) and Siena (30 minutes by car and by train). it is just 15 minutes from San Gimignano and is perfect for undertaking tours in the Chianti area. We also suggest visiting the Fortezza di Poggio Imperiale, a perfectly restored medieval keep and fortress, a unique example of medieval archeology. Nearby there is also a new "archaeodrome" where workshops for children and adults of living history are experimented.

Neighbourhood

Our apartment is located in the main square of Poggibonsi, 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station. A popular open-air market takes place every Tuesday beyond the station. The historic center of Poggibonsi is full of small and romantic squares where you can have lunch and dinner or have a glass of wine in the open-air bars. Trattorias, restaurants and wine bars offer good wine and typical Tuscan cuisine. Two cinemas (one an open summer arena) are around the corner.

Getting Around

Two cycle paths start just a few minutes from the house and take you to the medieval town of Colle di Val d'Elsa and the beautiful Rocca di Staggia Senese. On foot you can also reach the Fortress of Poggio Imperiale and the Fonte delle Fate, as well as a large park equipped for children.
