General Overview
Large private property in the charming village of Ajijic, Mexico. Renowned for its beautiful year-round climate and large natural lake, most of your visit will be spent outside. In this garden paradise, you'll enjoy being surrounded by flowers, trees and bird song while being able to walk to numerous restaurants, shops and the beautiful malecón (waterfront walkway). The main house boasts a large terrace, private heated pool with jacuzzi and outdoor shower. Two separate self-contained casitas offers privacy to additional visitors. Most dogs are welcome with prior arrangements.
The Space
Our home sits on a nearly 1/2 acre in the heart of the village. The property is divided in two parts-- a main hacienda style house featuring a primary bedroom with en-suite bathroom and guest bedroom/office with en-suite bathroom. There is a large modern kitchen in the main house, comfortable living room seating and dining for up to 8 people. This part of the yard also features numerous plants, a 30-foot wall covered with bougainvillea, heated pool and jacuzzi, outdoor shower, laundry room, large walk in closet and king sized bed. Upstairs there is a "mirador" with seating to enjoy the spectacular lake views. There are two fully-contained casitas on the other side of the property. One is recently remodeled and has a modern open concept kitchen, full bathroom and separate queen bedroom. The upper casita has a studio with its own bathroom, dining area and kitchenette. This property is ideal for large family gatherings or three couples seeking interaction while also having privacy.
Guest Access
The property is all one level, except for the upper casita and terrace which is accessible via a staircase and the main house mirador accessible via a spiral staircase. You will have a key for the exterior entrance door and remote for the automated gate to come and go as you please.
Notes
Our home is very secure and features motion activated walkway lighting, Siri digital assistants and video doorbell at the main entrance. You have access to Netflix streaming programs and Starlink wireless Internet connectivity perfect for remote work. The property is completely solar powered with battery back-up for the main house and water pump should the power go out during your stay.

Neighbourhood
No car is needed to access shops, entertainment, exercise (Pickleball is only a few blocks away). We're in the heart of our village, so shops, galleries and the central plaza are all within a few short blocks. The main street (carretera) is only a block away but the property is still relatively quiet when there are no fiestas or holidays happening. Although our property is overflowing with peaceful bird song, lush gardens and sunshine, Mexico is a lively country full of celebrations, laughter, music, fireworks and fiestas-- so please set your noise expectations accordingly.
Getting to my home
It's easy to get to our home from the Guadalajara airport, luxury bus, personal driver or road trip from popular tourist areas like Mexico City, Manzanillo or Puerto Vallarta.
Nearest airport
Our home is about 45 minutes driving distance from Guadalajara airport.
Getting Around
You can walk to the waterfront and dozens of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues all within a few blocks. As with most Mexican villages, the uneven sidewalks and cobblestone streets can be difficult to navigate if you have any mobility challenges. It is not a stroller or wheelchair friendly town. Bus service is within a short walking distance and personal drivers are reasonably priced to hire for trips outside the area.
