Neighbourhood
Cottesmore is a small village with a great pub, The Sun Inn, offering good food, a local shop and post office, and a great Fish and Chip shop. We also have Hambleton Bakery which has won awards in the UK as the best bakery in the country. Barnsdale Gardens and Tea Rooms are very close by, as is Rutland Water offering walks, cycle hire, bird watching, sailing and water sports, a man-made beach and summer events and an Aqua Park. Cottesmore is 7 mins drive from Oakham, a market town with everything you need including a train station with direct trains to Leicester, Cambridge, Peterborough, Birmingham and one change to London. Also close to Stamford, Lincolnshire, various stately homes and National Trust properties, and easy access to the several surrounding counties. Closest airport is East Midlands which is about 60 mins away, also Stansted which is about 75 mins away. The sea at Hunstanton is 90 minutes drive away for a doable day out.
Nearest airport
London Stansted is just over one hour, Birmingham also just over an hour. East Midlands is the closest at an hour.
