Portland is an incredible hub of culture and culinary amazingness. You'll love the creative local restaurants, shops, community events and festivals. Portland is a fantastic home base for exploring the PNW. We are a half hour from many hikes in the Columbia river gorge and mt. hood as well as local wineries (we're famous for our pinot noir!), there are tons of river sports to participate in, and you can take a day trip to the coast to experience even more natural beauty!
The space
Our little bungalow oasis in beautiful Portland! We love our home and are excited to share it with you. There is one queen bedroom on the main floor as well as the toddler room (an air mattress could be placed in that room if needed). Another queen bedroom is upstairs. One of our favorite things is lounging in the back yard under string lights, sipping wine and enjoying a cozy bonfire. We have a lovely vegetable and flower garden as well as fruit trees that you are welcome to help yourself to if it's the right season. If it's a cold night, there's nothing better that sitting in front of the fireplace with hot cocoa!
Guest access
All rooms but one bedroom are on the main floor, which does require a few steps up to the front porch. You'll have full access to our home, except for an owners closet. Since we're a family with young kids, we have all the kid gear that you are welcome to use during your stay (stroller, pack-n-play, high chair, toys)

Neighbourhood
We live in Northeast Portland, in an area that is becoming known as a new international area, with yummy restaurants representing many delicious cuisines (within a few blocks we have Russian, Vietnamese, Indian, Mexican, as well as a food cart pod with Thai, Mexican, Korean, Salvadorean, Tibetan, and Middle Eastern) . We are within a 15-20 minute walk of great 3 parks, and well as being a 5 minute walk to the MAX (Portland's main public transportation, a light rail) which takes you all over the city, hassle free. We are in a bike-able area, with neighborhood "greenways" as well as a dedicated bike path that loops the city, called the Springwater trail. Our neighbors are fantastic, a mix of people in all stages of life, including many families with children.
We're a couple blocks outside of Montavilla, named one of "10 of the world's coolest neighborhoods to visit right now" by Lonely Planet. Come check it out! https://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/travel-tips-and-articles/hot-hoods-in-the-us-10-neighborhoods-you-need-to-visit/40625c8c-8a11-5710-a052-1479d2768df2
Getting around
We are a 5 minute walk to the MAX, which is the light rail system that runs throughout Portland. Biking is also a great option for getting around, and we are open to coordinating a car exchange as well.
