Our cozy, 3 bedroom single-family "urban cottage" is located in Maisons-Laffitte, just 20 minutes by direct train to the center of Paris (Champs-Elysees). We love being close to the excitement and bustle of Paris, but also the calm, quaint village atmosphere of Maisons-Laffitte. Our house is perfect for a family with children OR for adults who want a more typical French experience than what is usually found staying at a downtown Paris hotel. We are a short (10 minute) walk from the river Seine, where you can have picnics, ride your bike, or just relax.

Our house is extremely cozy and sunny. We love going to flea markets and have decorated our place with a lot of our flea-market treasures. Our kids are in their teens, but we still have lots of toys, books, games, etc for younger kids to play with, as well.
The space
We have all of the American “creature comforts”- washer/dryer, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, Netflix, Xbox, etc. The house is extremely sunny with high windows , tall ceilings, and a ridiculous amount of marble fireplaces :) We have a private garden for eating and/or hanging out during warmer weather, as well as a firepit area for chilling once the sun goes down.
The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, the 2 smaller rooms each have double sized beds. The living room also has a sleeper sofa, with french doors to close it off from the rest of the house (for privacy). Lastly, we've built out a "man-cave" in the basement where we have xbox/wii, a home cinema set-up, television, and another double sleeper-sofa.

Neighbourhood
Maisons-Laffitte is pretty quiet considering its proximity to Paris. Our house is just 3 blocks from the train which takes you directly into Paris (RER line A).
The house is 5mn away from the cute town center, with its shops, bakeries and cafes. The main street, Avenue Longeuil, has small shops (butcher, cheese, wine, bakeries, patisseries, etc.,) as well as a major supermarket. There is also a cinema which often shows first-run movies in English.
There's a Farmers market every Wednesday and Saturday.
We're also really close to a park/wooded area which borders the Seine, where you'll find basket-ball and tennis courts, a soccer field, archery, skate park and the river way, where you can enjoy nice walks, picnics or bike rides.
The town also has a tennis club, swimming pool, golf course, and is bordered by the St Germain Forest.
Charles de Gaulle Airport. You can take a train from Paris CDG Airport (CDG) to Maisons-Laffitte via Chatelet Les Halles in around 1h 10m.
Getting around
We are about a 10 minute walk to the main shopping area (grocery stores, cafés, restaurants, clothes-shopping, etc. The train to Paris is also located in this main area.
