General Overview
Our sunny Mexican-Mediterranean home in central Cancún is available for a full-month home swap in February or March 2027. We are looking for an oceanfront home on the coast of Vancouver Island, Canada — Bamfield is our first choice (Bamfield holds a special place for us — a village built around its marine station, with that wild, science-loving spirit we feel at home in), but we would also love Victoria, Sooke, Port Renfrew, Ucluelet or Tofino. A simultaneous exchange is preferred. February–March in Cancún is the dry season, with 24–28 °C and plenty of sunshine.
The Space
Mexican-Mediterranean style house with beautiful Catalan vault (bóveda catalana) ceilings, 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, 2 bathrooms, and a full kitchen. Master bedroom with king bed; two bedrooms with queen beds. The private pool sits in a lush tropical garden with a wooden deck and shade sail — perfect for sunny afternoons. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout. Please note: the house is NOT beachfront — the pool is private, and the beaches are 5 minutes away.
Guest Access
Parking for 1 car.
Notes
Your hosts are Hans (marine ecologist) and Lourdes, a Mexican-Canadian couple. We are looking for a full month — February or March 2027 — and a simultaneous exchange is preferred.

Neighbourhood
The neighbourhood — Supermanzana 3, the Cancún locals live in. Our house is in one of Cancún's first residential neighbourhoods: quiet, tree-lined streets lived in by local families — the real Cancún, not the resort strip. Daily life is walkable here: bakeries, fruit stands, taco places, cafés and corner shops, at local prices. Puerto Cancún is 500 m away: the marina, Marina Town Center (restaurants, shops, cinema), a beach club and the 18-hole golf course — an easy walk. The Hotel Zone starts right here (km 0 of Blvd. Kukulcán): calm Playa Las Perlas, the locals' beach, is about 5 minutes away, and one short bus or colectivo ride takes you to every beach on the strip. Around us: the restaurant corridors of Av. Carlos Nader and Av. Bonampak; Mercado 28 craft market and Parque Las Palapas' evening food scene a few minutes away; the Ultramar ferry to Isla Mujeres leaves from Puerto Juárez, about 10 minutes north; Cancún airport is 20–25 minutes away.

We are Hans and Lourdes, a Mexican-Canadian couple who live between Montreal, Los Cabos and Cancún. Hans is a marine ecologist working on ocean conservation projects from the Gulf of California to British Columbia. Bamfield holds a special place for us — a village built around its marine station, with that wild, science-loving spirit we feel at home in — which is why it's our first choice on Vancouver Island. Lourdes works in nutrition and permaculture. We're cyclists and sailors, and careful guests who will treat your home like our own.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure.
