Generally quiet neighbourhood. Neighbours on either side are friendly and helpful. Close to town

Getting to my home

There is an airport in Whangarei. 15 min drive by car to home. Otherwise we are 5-10 minutes off State Highway 1 if travelling by car. The Intercity Bus stops downtown which would be a 5-10 minute car drive away or a 30 minute walk.

Nearest airport

15 minutes car drive away. There are rental cars available to hire there. Auckland is the International airport which is a two hour drive away. Intercity bus is available

Getting Around

By car 5-10 minutes to town By bus 10-15 minutes. Bus stop is outside our neighbours house, goes by every hour, but every two hours straight to town. The other hour is away from town. To walk would be 30 minutes.

Nichola

We are a senior couple (just!) - Nichola and Allan. I have not used world exchange people before, and am looking forward to this! This is a comfortable 3 bedroom home, one double bed with ensuite, two singles with another bathroom and seperate toilet, usual facilities. My two girls left home a few years ago. Allan has lots of house plants! I am a nurse and have specialised into Dermoscopy. Allan is a technician working with community health equipment. We have an electric bike plus a manual bike which you may use. There are bike paths in places, but they are not consistant, so you must take care biking. Bus comes two hourly, one minute away, or a walk into town would would be about 30 mins. Northland has beautiful beaches, bush walks and a walk around the town Basin with its shops and Hundertwasser Art Centre. Up north is the beautiful Bay of Islands, and forests to explore.
