KELL
Hi! I live in the Orkney Islands, where I work as a translator and writing historical guides. I fancy myself an author, too, although I’m still waiting for the book to prove it!
I love exploring new places, hiking, freeskiing, mountain biking and learning about local history - or anything, really. I just love to learn.
I’d especially love to spend time in France: I grew up there and miss it. But I’m an adventurer at heart, so I won’t limit myself to one destination. If my home appeals to you, please message me - there’s a good chance yours will appeal to me too!
I was a keen Couchsurfing member back when I was a student, and I’ve since house-sat around the world for a number of clients, including in some rather expensive homes. So I know how important it is to look after someone else’s place.
I can’t offer you a Steinway grand piano leading into a harp room, but I can offer the chance to watch boats come and go over your morning coffee. You’ll also be close to Orkney’s Neolithic history, where the past can suddenly feel wonderfully near.
I love cities as much as mountains, and forests as much as the coast. I’m open to wherever an exchange might take me, and I hope you’ll be excited by what I can offer.
N.B. I do not plan on bringing a vehicle and perhaps my ONLY 'ask', is that the accommodation is serviced by public-transport or is relatively centrally located/urban.
