Welcome to my little green escape in Arusha!
Surrounded by beautiful trees and plenty of open space, this home offers a wonderful combination of nature, comfort and authentic Tanzanian living.
The house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, an open-plan kitchen and a cosy living area. A lovely terrace invites you to enjoy your morning coffee, listen to the birds or simply relax in the shade of the trees.
One of the things I love most is the spacious outdoor area, with plenty of room to wander, explore and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The property also has an electric gate.
Located in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's famous northern safari circuit, it's a wonderful base for discovering the region or simply enjoying a slower pace of life.
A place to feel at home, reconnect with nature and experience a different side of Tanzania.
The Space
Looking at the photos, you might think I'm one of those crazy cat ladies! I promise it's not quite that bad. I'm currently in Dar es Salaam and don't have any proper photos of the house on my phone, so the cats are getting a little more attention than they deserve. Better pictures will follow!
The house itself is a cosy, warm and lovingly lived-in home, surrounded by beautiful trees and plenty of greenery. It has two bedrooms, one bathroom, an open-plan kitchen, a comfortable living area and a lovely terrace, perfect for morning coffee, listening to the birds or simply enjoying the surroundings.
One of its loveliest features is the huge outdoor space, with plenty of room to wander, explore and enjoy nature. The property also has an electric gate.
It's a home full of character, warmth and a little bit of wildness. Nothing fancy, just a genuine, comfortable place with lots of nature, space and personality.
Guest Access
Guests can enjoy the spacious main living area, the open-plan kitchen, both bedrooms, the bathroom and the lovely terrace surrounded by greenery.
There's also a small upstairs area that I use as my creative space. It's a lovely little corner to sit, read, paint, write or simply enjoy some quiet time and let your thoughts wander.
And of course, there's the large outdoor area with plenty of space to explore, relax and enjoy nature. Make yourself at home!
Notes
Arusha is a wonderful place to slow down, breathe and enjoy life at a different pace. It's peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, yet there's so much to discover and experience.
From hiking in Arusha National Park and exploring Mount Meru to visiting local markets, discovering little cafés or heading off on a safari, there's always something to do. Some of Tanzania's most spectacular national parks are within reach, making Arusha a fantastic base for adventures.
What I particularly love is the balance between peaceful days at home and the endless opportunities to get out, explore and experience something new. And I'm always happy to share my favourite places and local recommendations!

Neighbourhood
The house is located in a lovely, safe and peaceful neighbourhood, surrounded by greenery and with plenty of opportunities to go for a walk and explore the area.
Arusha town centre is less than 15 minutes away by taxi or local transport, so it's easy to enjoy the restaurants, cafés, markets and everything the city has to offer while staying in a quieter, more relaxed environment.
We're also close to Ndoto Zetu, our local NGO supporting children and families through education, personal development and community programmes. If you're curious about our work, you're very welcome to learn more at www.ndotozetu.or.tz.
Getting to my home
The easiest way to reach my home is by taxi or bajaji (a local three-wheeler). Both are commonly used in Arusha and make getting around quite easy. I'll happily share the exact location and directions before your arrival.
Nearest airport
Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO/KIA) is the main international airport, approximately 50 km from Arusha.
Arusha Airport (ARK) is closer to town and mainly serves domestic flights and regional connections within East Africa.
Both airports are easily accessible by taxi or private airport transfer.
Getting Around
Getting around Arusha is quite easy, with several options depending on how you like to explore. You can rent a car for more independence, use taxis or ride-hailing services like Bolt, or simply walk and discover the neighbourhood at your own pace.
For shorter distances, local bajajis (three-wheelers) are also a fun and affordable way to get around. I'm always happy to share recommendations and local contacts!

People Like Us Local Guide
I'm an A-Town girl at heart and absolutely love sharing what makes Arusha so special! Whether you're staying at my home or simply travelling through the area, I'm always happy to share local tips, favourite spots, recommendations and contacts. You don't need to arrange a home exchange to reach out. I love connecting people with places and experiences that make their time in Tanzania memorable!
Originally from Germany, I've been calling beautiful Tanzania home for the past 15 years, living between Arusha and Dar es Salaam, two very different but equally fascinating sides of the country.
I run my own businesses and an NGO, love meaningful conversations, good food, discovering new places and meeting interesting people from all walks of life.
I'm curious, open-minded and always up for a new experience, but equally happy with a quiet morning, a good book and a beautiful view.
I'm new to home exchanging and excited about sharing my little corner of Tanzania while discovering someone else's part of the world. My home in Dar es Salaam is my main exchange option, but depending on the arrangement, Arusha could also be a possibility.
I'm open to different destinations, cultures and experiences. For me, it's about more than exchanging houses. It's about exchanging a little piece of our worlds.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
