Neighbourhood

The neighborhood is peaceful and pretty, a little oasis right outside of the city, with nice restaurants, cafés, and shops within walking distance. Then, if you want to go into Harvard Square or downtown Boston, just hop on the bus! It's wonderful to have the city so accessible, but to be able to retreat from it a little, have some extra space. It's also within walking distance of the beautiful Charles River, with its great walks and places to picnic. This is a wonderful neighborhood to spread out in the backyard or on the deck with the barbecue in the evening, then head into Boston and Cambridge to see the sights during the day!

Getting around

Walk three minutes to the bus, which takes you to Harvard Square in ten minutes. From there, take the subway anywhere in Boston. I'm happy to do a car swap, too, with my well-maintained 2011 Subaru Legacy.

We are a small and well-traveled family. Since Tobias was born, we've traveled extensively between California, Massachusetts, and New York, and we've also spent several weeks in France, once on a very successful home exchange through another site. I am fluent in French, and Toby is learning French. I'd love for him to practice! I'm a teacher, and would love to exchange our home during school vacations and summers. Right now we'd like to exchange during the last two weeks of June and the last two weeks of August to a beach location (Spain, Portugal would be great, but open to other places too). Vermont, Maine, Quebec would also be great, either then or for long weekends. would particularly recommend my home to those in town for graduations (Harvard, MIT, BU, BC, Northeastern and others are easily accessible) or just for those who have children in school in Boston or Cambridge.
