General Overview

Welcome to my little piece of Colorado! Built in 1908, my home combines historic character, warm wood floors, and comfortable everyday living in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance of downtown and a beautiful local park. The house retains much of its original charm, including the original hardwood floors upstairs in the half-story, while a newly renovated full kitchen makes it a wonderful place for anyone who enjoys cooking and gathering at home. One of my favorite features is the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in several inviting spaces. The front patio is a lovely spot for morning coffee, while the small rear deck and large fenced backyard offer additional room to relax, unwind, or spend time outside. Cañon City is a wonderful home base for exploring Colorado, with the spectacular Royal Gorge nearby and beautiful scenery, outdoor recreation, and small-town charm throughout the surrounding area. Whether you enjoy walking, exploring nature, discovering local spots, or simply settling into a peaceful community, there is plenty to appreciate here. This is a home with history, character, and a welcoming feel—not just a place to stay, but a place to settle in and experience everyday life in Colorado. I would love for someone to enjoy it as their own home for a while, care for it thoughtfully, and make the most of all that this special little corner of Colorado has to offer.

I'm a licensed professional counselor, and I've had the wonderful opportunity to live in the Philippines for nearly four years. That experience deepened my appreciation for different cultures, the warmth of local communities, and the joys of settling into a place rather than simply passing through as a tourist. I continue to return to Dauin/Dumaguete (Negros Oriental) in the Philippines and am exploring a lifestyle that allows me to spend extended periods there while keeping my home in Colorado. I'm a respectful, independent, and responsible person who values clear communication and taking good care of the places I stay. I'm also interested in yoga, spirituality, and connecting with people from different walks of life. I believe travel can be about so much more than seeing new sights; it can open us up to new perspectives and ways of living. I'm currently exploring the possibility of a longer-term home exchange between my home in Cañon City, Colorado, and a home in the Dumaguete area of the Philippines. I'm drawn to the idea of two homeowners helping each other experience life somewhere new while caring for each other's homes with the same consideration we'd give our own.
