General Overview

My home is a bright and cosy 53 m² one-bedroom apartment in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. It is located on the 8th floor and has beautiful open views and a glazed balcony where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. The apartment has one bedroom and a comfortable living room with a sofa bed, so it can comfortably accommodate up to three guests. I live here myself, so the apartment has a warm and personal atmosphere rather than feeling like a holiday rental. The neighbourhood is quiet and pleasant, while Helsinki city centre is very easy to reach by train. The apartment is a comfortable base for exploring Helsinki or for a longer stay.

The Space

Guests will have the entire apartment to themselves during the exchange. The apartment is on the 8th floor and there are two elevators in the building. My personal belongings will remain in the home, but a separate wardrobe will be available for guests to use. There is no private parking space. The nearest train station is approximately 900 metres away, about a 10-minute walk. From there, the train takes about 10 minutes to Helsinki city centre and approximately 25 minutes directly to Helsinki Airport.

Neighbourhood

Pohjois-Haaga is a quiet and pleasant residential neighbourhood with good transport connections. There is an Alepa grocery store about 300 metres from the apartment, open 24/7. The area is peaceful and convenient for everyday living, while Helsinki city centre is only a short train ride away.

Getting to my home

From Helsinki Airport, take a direct train to Helsinki city via Pohjois-Haaga. The train journey takes approximately 25 minutes. From the station, it is about a 10-minute walk (approximately 900 metres) to the apartment.

Getting Around

The nearest train station is about 900 metres away, around a 10-minute walk. Trains take approximately 10 minutes to Helsinki city centre and about 25 minutes directly to the airport.Pohjois-Haaga is also well served by HSL buses, with several bus stops within easy walking distance. Buses provide convenient connections to nearby neighbourhoods, shopping areas and other transport hubs. Helsinki’s HSL public transport system is easy to use, with the same ticketing system covering buses, commuter trains, trams and the metro. The HSL app is useful for route planning and buying tickets. A 24-hour grocery store is only about 300 metres from the apartment, so everyday essentials are within easy walking distance.

Hello! I’m Tiina from Helsinki, Finland. I’m new to home exchange and looking forward to discovering this way of travelling. I usually travel on my own and enjoy combining holidays with occasional remote work. I appreciate comfortable homes, beautiful surroundings, local life and the opportunity to stay somewhere long enough to really get to know the area. I’m a respectful, tidy and responsible guest, and I would take care of your home as carefully as I do my own. Clear communication and mutual trust are important to me. For this winter, I would especially like to find an exchange in Spain between 14 December and 20 January, ideally somewhere with good public transport, reliable WiFi and easy access to everyday services. I’m happy to offer my cosy apartment in Helsinki in return and hope to find exchanges that feel comfortable and enjoyable for both sides. In my free time I enjoy art and culture, good food and long walks. When I travel, I like discovering neighbourhoods, local restaurants and everyday life rather than just visiting the main tourist attractions.
