General Overview

Our home is a 50 kvm and very nice, light and open flat with no doors, apart from to the bathroom:) One side faces the local street with restaurant, food-store and farmacy. We have a sea view with evening sun in the kitchen. The flat feels larger than it is, with its 10 meters width reaching from side to side, as well as the entry and hallway providing a 9 meters perspective. My son has his own room with one bed for two (2x90x200mm) and centrally located there is a master bed, our daybed, for two (140x200cm). The living room is large with a long and cosy sofa, dining table for 4-10 people television. The bathroom is fresh. It’s easy to access washing machines in the basement and storage space for bikes. The wonderful thing with Lilla Essingen is its position, being part of the archipelago as well as the innercity of Stockholm. It’s wonderful to walk around the island, take to boat, bus or bike to the City, Kungsholmen, Södermalm or Gröndal. The close sorroundings as well as the island provides different kinds of local areas with plenty of different types of restaurants (fast food to high brow) cafes, nice mix of friendly people and greenery along the water.

I’m a Swedish architect & artist, based in Stockholm. My practice focuses on participatory processes activating public space from a public art and city planning perspective. I have three children, two daughters being away from home studying, and a 14 year old son staying with me every second week. We live on the small centrally based island, Lilla Essingen, and love to have a swim first thing in the morning and cycle around in the city. I have not used this exchange site before, but Airbnb plenty of times in very personal homes, which we love when going abroad.
