Welcome to our little patch of Bali.
We live in Tumbak Bayuh, just inland from Pererenan and Canggu, in a two-bedroom villa with a private pool and a pandan plantation out the back.
It gives us the best of both worlds: close enough to all the food, coffee, gyms and beaches that make this part of Bali great, but far enough away that coming home still feels peaceful.
The villa is best suited to couples, remote workers and longer stays. If your idea of a good holiday involves alternating between exploring Bali and doing very little beside a pool, you’ll probably get along well here.
The Space
The villa has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open indoor-outdoor living area leading straight onto the private pool.
The main bedroom is set up as a bedroom, while the second bedroom currently doubles as our work-from-home office with two proper desk setups.
So yes, technically you can come to Bali and remain productive. We make no guarantees that you’ll actually want to.
There’s a full kitchen, Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, air conditioning, linen, towels and the usual things you need to live comfortably rather than feel like you’re staying in a hotel.
Out the back is a pandan plantation, which gives the house a nice green outlook and makes the villa feel much more removed from the busier parts of Canggu than it actually is.
Guest Access
You’ll have the villa and private pool to yourselves.
We’ll make sure you have everything you need to get settled and can also leave recommendations for food, coffee, gyms, beaches and the various other important components of Bali life.
Notes
Bali is tropical, which means you may occasionally encounter geckos, insects and other small creatures that have absolutely no respect for property boundaries.
We consider the geckos part of the household staff. They mostly work nights.
As with most of this part of Bali, there can occasionally be construction or ceremonial noise in the wider area, although our immediate neighbourhood is generally pretty peaceful.
There is a strip of villas across the road that are 80% done. Rarely get an angle grinder now days.
We’re happy to help with local recommendations before or during your stay.

Neighbourhood
We’re in Tumbak Bayuh, a quieter village just inland from Pererenan and Canggu.
It’s still very much Bali around us: local homes, temples, small warungs, greenery and the occasional ceremony passing by.
At the same time, Pererenan and Canggu are only a short ride away, so you’ve got easy access to restaurants, cafés, gyms, supermarkets, beaches and an almost unreasonable number of places selling very good coffee.
We’ve lived here long enough to have fairly strong opinions about where to eat, where to get coffee and which places are not worth joining a queue for. We’re very happy to share them.
Getting to my home
Airport transfers are easy to arrange, and Grab or Gojek are also widely available.
Nearest airport
Ngurah Rai International Airport / Denpasar International Airport (DPS) - 1.5 hours
Getting Around
A scooter is by far the easiest way to get around the local area if you’re comfortable riding one.
Grab and Gojek are also excellent for both cars and scooters, so having your own transport isn’t essential.
Pererenan, Canggu and the surrounding areas are all easy to reach from the villa.
Traffic can be very Bali, particularly around Canggu at busy times, so we recommend judging distances in minutes rather than kilometres.

Jordan and Casey
We’re Jordan and Casey, two Australians currently calling Bali home.
I run a small data and AI consultancy and Casey works in education, so between us there’s usually at least one laptop open somewhere in the house.
We’re heading back to Australia for a while because we’re having a baby, which means our Bali villa will be sitting empty for stretches at a time. Rather than leave it unused, we thought it would be much more fun to swap it with someone else’s little corner of the world.
We’re pretty easy-going travellers. Give us good food, good coffee, somewhere interesting to wander around and a comfortable place to come home to and we’re happy.
We’ll treat your home like our own and are looking for people who’ll do the same with ours.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
