Our cozy, fully renovated mountain condo is one of our favourite places to escape. Located directly on Fernie Alpine Resort, you can ski right down to your door, kick off your boots and jump right into the hot tub. Our unit also backs onto the river for a peaceful, private mountain setting.

The condo has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and pull out sofa which comfortably sleeps up to 7. There’s a private hot tub on the patio, fireplace, large Smart TV, cozy blankets and lots of games. It’s also dog-friendly and professionally cleaned.

We’re just minutes from downtown Fernie, with great restaurants, shops and the golf course all a 5 minute drive away. Hiking and mountain biking trails are right outside the door, and Lake Koocanusa is about 30 minutes away where we enjoy boating, swimming, cliff diving and summer adventures.

The Space

Our condo is a fully renovated, two-bedroom, two-bathroom mountain home located right on the ski hill in Fernie.

The primary bedroom has a queen bed and its own full bathroom, while the second bedroom has three single bunk beds with another full bathroom nearby. There is also a queen pull-out sofa in the living room, allowing the condo to comfortably sleep up to 7 guests.

The main living area is open and cozy, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, fireplace, large Smart TV, comfortable seating, lots of blankets and games for nights in.

Out back, the condo opens onto a private patio with our hot tub and backs directly onto the river, so it feels peaceful and tucked away even though you’re right on the mountain. In the winter, you can ski right down to the condo at the end of the day, which is one of our favourite things about the location.

We’re located right on the Fernie ski hill, with hiking and mountain biking trails around us in the warmer months, while downtown Fernie is only about a 5-minute drive away. It’s the best of both worlds: a quiet mountain setting surrounded by nature, with town, restaurants and everything you need just minutes away.

Neighbourhood

One of our favourite things about the condo is how much you can access without having to get in the car. Lizard Creek Lodge is just a 2-minute walk down the road, with beautiful chalet dining and a great place for drinks and food. They also have a spa with amazing mountain view.  

Tennis courts are also just down the street, with hiking and walking trails all around us.

A little further down the hill is Fernie Alpine Resort village, where you’ll find restaurants, bars, shops and everything you need for a day on the mountain.

In the summer, the ski hill transforms into an alpine playground with chairlift-accessed mountain biking, hiking and sightseeing. You can also take the lift up the mountain to Lost Boys Café for lunch, incredible views and live music.

Whether you’re here to ski, bike, hike, golf, relax or explore, there’s so much to do right outside the door, with downtown Fernie only about 5 minutes away.

Getting to my home

Fernie is easy to reach by car or air.

From Calgary: Calgary International Airport (YYC) is the closest major international airport. From the airport, it’s a beautiful drive through the foothills and Crowsnest Pass to Fernie, approximately 3.5 hours. Most visitors rent a car at the airport and drive.

From Cranbrook: Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC) is the closest airport to Fernie, approximately 75 minutes away by car. It has regular connections from Calgary and Vancouver, with rental cars and shuttle options available.

For visitors coming from the U.S., Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) in Kalispell, Montana is another great option, approximately 2.5 hours away by car via the Roosville border crossing.

Once you arrive in Fernie, our condo is located right at Fernie Alpine Resort, about 5 minutes from downtown.

Getting Around

Having a car is the easiest way to explore Fernie and the surrounding area, but once you’re at the condo, there’s lots you can do without one.

We’re right on the mountain, so you can ski in, walk to the resort village, restaurants and Lizard Creek Lodge, and access hiking and biking trails right from the area.

Downtown Fernie is only about a 5-minute drive away. During ski season, the FernieStoke shuttle runs between Fernie Alpine Resort and downtown during the day and evening, making it easy to head into town for dinner or drinks without driving.

Fernie itself is very walkable, especially downtown, and is also easy to explore by bike in the warmer months. For day trips, golfing, Lake Koocanusa and exploring the surrounding mountains, we recommend having a vehicle.

Hi! We’re Vanessa and Dave, along with our dog, Indi. We’re a small family of three who love filling our free time with travel, adventure, good food and time with the people we love.

We both have corporate careers, and Vanessa previously owned a restaurant, so hospitality has always been a big part of our lives. These days, when we’re not working, we’re usually planning our next trip or finding an excuse to get outside. We love skiing, golfing, hiking, biking, exploring new places and learning about the history and culture wherever we go.

Our condo in Fernie is one of our favourite places to escape to. We love the mountain lifestyle and everything Fernie has to offer in every season, whether it’s a day on the ski hill, a summer bike ride, a round of golf, a hike, or simply wandering around town and enjoying a great meal.

Family and friends are a huge part of our lives, and we love creating memories and experiences with the people around us. Since it’s just the three of us, we’ve really embraced the freedom to travel, explore and say yes to new adventures.

We’re excited about the idea of home exchanging because it feels like such a great way to experience places more authentically while sharing a little piece of a place we love with others. We take great pride in our home and would treat yours with the same care and respect.
