General Overview

Welcome to my home in Charlottesville, Virginia! I love living here and think it is a wonderful place to experience the best of Virginia—beautiful mountains and countryside, great food and wine, fascinating history, and a lively college-town atmosphere.

My home is in a quiet residential neighborhood where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding nature, while still being close to everything Charlottesville has to offer. One of my favorite places in the house is the large screened porch, where we spend hours drinking coffee, reading, eating meals, and watching the birds, squirrels, and deer in the trees.

Charlottesville is a great home base for exploring the area. You can easily spend a day visiting Monticello, exploring the Downtown Mall and UVA, hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, visiting wineries and breweries, or enjoying one of the many excellent local restaurants.

I am happy to share my home and my favorite local recommendations with our guests. I hope you'll feel comfortable here and enjoy Charlottesville as much as I do!

The Space

Spacious Three-Story Home with a Beautiful Screened Porch in the Trees

Welcome to my comfortable three-story home, with three bedrooms available for guests. The house offers plenty of space to relax, gather, and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The spacious primary bedroom is located on the ground floor and features a comfortable king-size bed and a newly renovated private bathroom with a large, luxurious walk-in shower.

Two additional bedrooms are located upstairs, each with a queen-size bed. These bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower/tub combination.

Main Living Area
The main floor features an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area, making it a welcoming space for cooking, eating, and spending time together. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you should need during your stay.

A washer and dryer are conveniently located in the basement.

Our Favorite Feature: The Screened Porch
The large screened porch is the heart of the house and our favorite place to relax. Located on the second floor, it feels like you're nestled right up in the trees.

The porch includes a comfortable daybed, a dining table that seats six, and two rocking chairs. It's a wonderful spot for morning coffee, an afternoon nap, dinner with friends, or simply relaxing while watching the wildlife.

Keep an eye out for birds, squirrels, and even deer passing through the yard. The porch offers a peaceful connection to nature while still providing all the comforts of home.

Explore Charlottesville

Charlottesville is a wonderful place to visit because it offers a little bit of everything—beautiful scenery, fascinating history, great food and wine, outdoor adventures, and a lively arts and music scene.

History & Culture
Explore Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, tour the beautiful grounds of the University of Virginia, and visit other historic sites connected to Virginia’s early history. Charlottesville also has a thriving arts scene, with museums, galleries, theaters, public art, and live music throughout the year.

Downtown Charlottesville
The historic Downtown Mall is a pedestrian-friendly area filled with locally owned shops, restaurants, cafés, galleries, and theaters. It is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening strolling, shopping, dining, and enjoying live music. The nearby UVA Grounds and the lively Corner neighborhood are also fun to explore.

Wine, Beer & Food
Charlottesville is at the heart of Virginia wine country, with more than 40 wineries in the surrounding area. Many offer beautiful mountain and vineyard views, outdoor seating, food, and live music. There are also numerous craft breweries, cideries, and an excellent farm-to-table restaurant scene.

Outdoor Adventures
If you enjoy being outdoors, there is plenty to explore. The Blue Ridge Mountains are just a short drive away, with hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Park. Closer to town, you can hike the Rivanna Trail, walk the Saunders-Monticello Trail, kayak or tube on the rivers, or simply enjoy one of the many beautiful parks in the area.

Local Experiences
Depending on the season, you can visit the farmers markets, pick fruit at Carter Mountain Orchard, attend a concert or festival, watch polo at a local vineyard, enjoy outdoor dining, or catch a UVA sporting event. There is almost always something happening in Charlottesville!

Charlottesville is also a great base for exploring the surrounding region, including the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia wine country, and historic sites such as James Madison’s Montpelier.

Getting to my home

You can fly or drive here, just minutes off interstate 64.

Nearest airport

Charlottesville airport is 20 minutes away or Dulles International Airport is about 2 hours drive.

Getting Around

A car is recommended for staying at our home. While there is a grocery store within easy walking distance, public transportation is not conveniently located nearby, so having a car will make it much easier to explore Charlottesville and the surrounding area.

Charlottesville is very easy to navigate by car, and having your own vehicle also gives you the freedom to explore the beautiful countryside, wineries, hiking trails, Blue Ridge Mountain overlooks, and nearby historic sites.
