We had a wonderful stay at Maggie and Bob's home in Squamish. We drove up from Vancouver, and found the house easily with Maggie's excellent directions. She had kindly left us ample provisions so we could just settle right in and enjoy the spectacular scenery and the peace and quiet. The house looks out over the forest and mountains, and there is a lovely trail right behind the house. We enjoyed having our breakfasts outside, watching the heron that roosted in a tree overlooking the house. The house had everything we needed, and we slept extremely well on super-comfortable beds.
Squamish is a lovely town, surrounded by cliffs and mountains. There are endless outdoor activities in the nearby areas, and an excellent selection of restaurants and shops (Maggie's house information included a lot of great recommendations, along with information about all the activities and attractions in the area). A couple of our favourites were Fox and Oak for early morning coffee and donuts, and the Watershed Grill in the next town, where we watched bald eagles while enjoying their great food. We drove to Whistler one afternoon, visited Shannon Falls, swam in Alice Lake, and took walks around the surrounding countryside. This was our first trip to Canada and we loved it so much. Thank you, Maggie and Bob, for sharing your home with us. We had a fabulous time!
