General Overview

Situated in Gozo, Malta our seafront, ground floor apartment sleeps up to 4 guests. Ideal holiday home for Summer but also comfy in Winter. Situated in prime area of Marsalforn, the number 1 seaside resort in Gozo. It is 30 feet away from the clean and clear blue/green sea. My apartment is close to everthing: the foodstores, the bus stops, the pharmacy and only 15 minutes by bus to the capital town Victoria. Parking is allowed in the back streets and available in a large car park 200 hundred meters away.

The Space

The apartment comprises a front room that serves as a sitting/dining area. a compact separate kitchen fully equipped with the basic electric appliances, etc. A corridor leads to a bedroom with 2 single beds and a larger one with a double bed and en suite shower/toilet. The singles bedroom comprises a spare toilet. Both bedrooms have a coin-operated air conditioner. Our guests love the front terrace equipped with outdoor furniture where they like to sit and relax. At the back there is a small yard where one can hang wet clothes and towels to dry.

Guest Access

This ground floor apartment is ideal for elderly adults and people with mobility problems since there are no stairs to climb.

Notes

Note: The ACs are coin-operated but quite cheap. 1 Euro gives 3 hours of continuous operation for both ACs. It is recommended to leave the keys in the lock-box when you go out to avoid the danger of losing them. Code will be given on request.

Neighbourhood

Marsalforn swimming is available in all parts of the bay. Some people who like jumping like the rocky parts while others especially those with young children choose the sandy/pebbly beach. One can walk along the coast-road to Qbajjar which is a smaller bay also ideal for swimming. A few meters further on one arrives at Xwejni , yet another smaller and very popular beach. The coast road runs as far as Wied il-Ghasri, a picturesque creek with a tiny pebbly beach of only 12 feet.

Getting to my home

Gozo does not boast an airport so our guests would land in Malta, the larger sister island. Crossing over to Gozo is either from Valletta by Fast Ferry or from Cirkewwa (people with a car) by the Gozo Channel ferry. In both instances our guests disembark at Mgarr which is only about 12 kms away from Marsalforn. One can get the public transportd Bus number 310, or take a Bolt. When in Marsalforn walk along the Seafront promenage towards the Left and look for Marina Crt near Aragosta Restaurant and next door to the Clothes shop.

i am semi-retired after half a lifetime working in the civil service as an administrative and a teacher. I spend my time doing art and sculpture and indulging in other hobbies as well. I also like doing maintenance work in my house and in the apartment that I rent on short lets and that I am now offering for home-exchange.on the 'People Like Us' platform. I am married to Gina and we have 2 daughters, both married with children. We all live in Gozo-Malta and we like to travel together as a family sometimes. We have just arrived back from Bansko in Bulgaria and I have got this idea of trying a home-exchange for the first time. We are used to enjoy, respect and keep a good house clean and in order since my daughters Elaine and Therese and myself have nice residential homes in Gozo, our Island Home. We would like to arrange a non-simultaneous exchange, where we come in Summer during the school holidays since my two daughters are teachers and our grand children are still in school while our exhange partner comes to Gozo in Winter when my apartment is available. This arrangement could be advantageous to both parties expecially if our exchange partner would be hailing from northern Europe where Winters are freezing. On the other hand we in Malta would be roasting during our harsh summer months. Winter in Malta is mild with the temperatur rarely falling below 13 degrees curing the day. Sometimes it rains but only for a day or two and then it is fine again and more beautiful than before. I sincerely love our Winters. We would require a fairly large house or apartment since we would be 3 couples and 3 children. To make good for the difference in the size of the properties I can offer a longer stay to the would-be exchange partner. For example, we come for 5 nights and they stay for 10. The apartment that I am offering is 30 feet away from the sea and one can literally fish from the front terrace. It is in a prime position close to everything, the foodstores, the pharmacy, the bus stops, the ATM, the restaurants, etc.
