General Overview

Our home is in trendy East Vancouver, walking distance to shops and cafes on Commercial Drive. It’s a short drive to downtown and near the highway for easy access to Whistler. We’re striking distance to the Pacific National Exhibition, Playland amusement park, and Freedom Mobile Arch outdoor concert venue. In the summer months, we have an abundant garden of flowers and vegetables. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and close to public transit routes.

The Space

Our home is a 1940 bungalow with lots of character and some renovations that have expanded the living space.  Appx 1500 SF of comfortable living space including two living rooms and three bedrooms. 

Master bedroom includes a Queen sized bed and private bathrooms with shower.  Adjacent to the Master bedroom is a small living room with new couch that can be converted to a single bed. Other bedrooms are on the main floor with single beds . There is a second bathroom on the main floor with shower. The main floor also features a living room and kitchen/dining room. 

Outdoor space includes a deck and patio. Most of our outdoor space is dedicated to garden!

Guest Access

There are 3 floors. Access to the top floor is a steeper staircase. Access to the front door requires mounting a small set of stairs. Access to basement (only for laundry) requires stairs.

Nearest airport

YVR - 35 minutes by car. Also the rail system (sky train) gets you into town very quickly and then an easy Uber to our place (10 minutes from Olympic Village station)

Getting Around

You can walk (20 min) or drive (5min) to Commercial Drive shops. Main St shops are a 20 minute drive. Downtown is a 15 minute drive. Transit to downtown is also very easy and fast.

We haven’t had any house exchange experience, but we’ve Airbnbed our house over the years successfully.  Looking at house exchange as a way of adding some spontaneity to our adventures! We’re primarily looking for sun destinations during the winter months but open to other offers!
