General Overview

This rustic and functional barn-home has served as my year round home and workspace for over 16 years. Set at the edge of a small hamlet (so there are neighbours when needed), surrounded by farm fields, forest, lakes and ancient hills. 

The space inside has been described as a New York loft on the ground floor. It's one open space ... where the wall bed can be put away if more living space is needed. (eg hosting a jam or art activity). There is a small kitchen that has all the amenities necessary to cook a lovely meal. Though best done with only person in it at a time. 

The property itself is bordered by a creek that runs all year round. A 10 mintue drive away is the lovely town of Wakefield, Qc. The Gatineau Park for year round outdoor adventures is 6 minutes away. Gatineau and Ottawa are about 30 minutes away.

One floor, one room, one queen bed. And a big partially covered deck where I pretty much live 3 seasons of the year.

Neighbourhood

An awesome rural hall and second hand store a 5 minute from here that is the best example of a circular economy. The goods donated become useful items to others and the money made is put back into the community as a defacto emergency fund.

Getting to my home

Ottawa International airport is less than an hour away. Not a lot of public transportation but we do have a spectacular community that is often happy to help with rides. 

Transcollines Bus line in Gatineau offers a limited pallet of transportation to Wakefield ... though not to my hamlet Rupert per se as of this writing.
