General Overview
Our family home is a sunny comfortable base to explore the stunning Waitakare Ranges Regional Park, a mountain range located between metropolitan Auckland and the Tasman Sea. The area, traditionally known to Māori as Te Wao Nui o Tiriwa (The Great Forest of Tiriwa), is of local, regional, and national significance. Our location provides a unique mix of Auckland's beach-bush-city-cultural highlights. We are peacefully nestled among native bush in a friendly coastal community, there's lots to enjoy here on our doorstep with plenty more to discover in bustling central Auckland. We love our beachy home and look forward to welcoming you.

Kia Ora! We are a family of four - myself, two teenage sons (ages 15 and 13) plus our goofy cavoodle, Baxter (pet minding not required). I am originally London-born, from Caribbean descent, and began travelling in my twenties with life-long friends and never stopped! I love exploring the world, experiencing new landscapes and cultures. We now enjoy adventuring as a family and the boys share my passion for travel. 30 countries and counting! After living in Sydney for a couple of years, the Southern Hemisphere quickly became home and finally settled in beautiful New Zealand where my sons were born.
I work in the for-purpose sector as a fundraising professional and have served a number of great causes in the UK and New Zealand. I sometimes work remotely but we mostly plan our trips around the school holidays. I have an elderly parent living in London and try to get back to visit as much as possible.
We are new to the PLU community and excited to start this new adventure! We'd love to share our home with you in a very special part of New Zealand. Home is where the heart is and we will respectfully treat yours as ours.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
