My home is at the end of a paved private road which serves four other homes. It has one hundred feet of frontage on beautiful Elk Lake. It borders, to it's rear, conservancy property which makes it a very quiet location.

The Space

My home is a 3400 square feet walkout ranch and has two bedrooms upstairs and one on the lower level. It has two bathrooms upstairs and one on the lower level. The master bedroom's bathroom has a shower and the hallway bathroom has a shower/tub. The lower level bathroom also has a shower/tub.

Guest Access

My home has two floors with stairs to the lower level. It is not wheelchair accessible.

Notes

I am most interested in a month or more of trade over the months of January through mid-March. If your home is in a warm climate that is a plus to me.

Neighbourhood

You will find woods, pastures, cherry, apple, peach and grape farms galore and lots of wildlife. The climate is conducive to a late lasting growing season which is why this area supplies over 60% of the nation's cherries. There are many wineries in Grand Traverse County and nearby Leelanau County. The Riesling and Gewürztraminer grapes do especially well and win many national awards. The Pere Marquette forest is just five minutes away. The area gets over a hundred inches of snow each winter. The roads are cleared quite quickly and I will arrange to have my drive regularly cleared.

Getting to my home

There are no passenger railways to the area I live in. Car rentals are available at Traverse City Airport (TVC) just twenty five minutes from my home.

Getting Around

I am twenty minutes from Traverse City which has much shopping and great restaurants. Fifteen minutes from Meijers Thrifty Acres (a large grocery/department store) and fifteen minutes from the charming Lake Michigan (East Bay) port town of Elk Rapids.
