General Overview
Welcome to our relaxed family home tucked beneath a beautiful oak canopy in Osprey, just south of Sarasota. Located on a quiet road designated by Sarasota County as a tree canopy street, our home is surrounded by lush greenery and coastal wildlife, creating a peaceful retreat while still being close to everything.
The Space
The house itself is a comfortable family home designed for relaxing after beach days or nature walks. It includes:
- Primary suite with a king bed
- Secondary bedroom with a queen bed
- An office
- Cozy den / TV room for movies and downtime
- Fully equipped kitchen and open living areas
- Screened front porch
- Screened lanai
Outside, enjoy our private wooded lanai, where you can sit among palms and native plants while listening to birds and the breeze through the trees. It’s a lovely place for morning coffee or a quiet evening after a day exploring the coast.
This is a wonderful home base for families or travelers who want nature, water, and beautiful beaches nearby—without staying in a crowded tourist area.
Guest Access
The house is on 1 floor only.
Notes
We are a peanut-free household since Isaac (our son) is allergic. We have an indoor only kitty. She is 6 and her feeder, water and litter box are all automated. If you are staying more than a week, we might need your help freshening those up.

Neighbourhood
One of the best parts of staying here is how walkable the neighborhood is. At the end of the street you’ll find the bay, where a bench offers stunning sunsets and frequent sightings of dolphins, manatees, and coastal birds. A short stroll in the other direction brings you to the local fishing pier, perfect for morning fishing or simply watching the boats go by. And if you go the other direction, you will find yourself at one of the most beautiful parks in all of Sarasota County. There you can launch a kayak, play a little game of bocce ball, fish at the floating dock, or simply just take in the views.
Just a few blocks away you can also walk to a casual waterfront restaurant and tiki bar, a favorite local spot for sunset drinks, fresh seafood, and relaxed Florida evenings.
We are also walking distance to the Historic Spanish Point--a beautiful bayside historic site and nature preserve with walking trails and gardens.
Getting to my home
Uber/Lyft are the easiest ways to get to our place, or a car rental from the airport.
Nearest airport
The nearest airport is SRQ (35 minutes away), while TPA has more direct flights (1.5 hours away)
Getting Around
We are about 5 minutes to the closest grocery store. There is an ice cream shop a block away, a pizza place across the street and a tiki bar and restaurant on the water just a short walk away.

Anna
We are Ben and Anna, avid travelers, busy parents and lovers of food + wine. We have 3 kids: 10, 16 an 18. Our 10 year old is with us full-time while our 16 year old and 18 year old spend the summers and breaks with us.
After selling our home in Georgia, we traveled for a few years. We have settled in the coastal town of Osprey, Florida where we own a beautiful home. Ben has traveled extensively throughout Central America during his time at Peace Corps, and Anna was born in the Philippines but grew up in Venezuela. She speaks Filipino and Spanish fluently in addition to English.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
