Neighbourhood

Many bars, restaurants, shops, galleries, a happening scene all on the one mile main street. There is walkable access to hiking on Mt Beacon, walkable access to the Hudson river which offers kayaking and swimming and hiking in season. Beacon has a waterfall in the middle of town, and a historic dummy light. All of this is walking distance from my home. The train will take you straight to Grand Central station, NYC.

Getting to my home

Easy Metro North train from NYC to Beacon; taxis and hop on/off bus to home. Its about a 20 minute walk from the station otherwise, mostly uphill!

Nearest airport

Stuart Airport (SWF) is nearest, about 20 minutes; La Guardia from NYC is an easy taxi to 125th St Metro North station, and JFK and Newark driving distance, but about 70 miles and depends on traffic. George Washington Bridge is 60 miles.

Getting Around

Walking, and a hop on hop off bus on Main Street
