General overview

Hi! Thanks for looking at our house, we're really excited to be travelling again! We're hoping to do some travel in Australia in Jan 2023. Then looking at Japan or Cambodia later in 2023. We are both school teachers so are limited to travel in Victorian school holiday dates. Our 3 bedroom house was built 8 years ago and is located in a new suburb just outside of Geelong, which is Victoria's second biggest city. The proximity to local beach towns is fantastic, with Barwon Heads being 10 minutes away, as is Torquay, which is the start of the Great Ocean Road, including famous sites such as Bells Beach and the 12 Apostles. Our home has plenty of kid friendly things in the house such as toys, a trampoline and a cubby house. The area that we live in has shops, restaurants, sports fields and playgrounds all within walking distance. Exchangers would be welcome to use our bikes, paddleboards and possibly our second car. We are open to non-simultaneous swaps as we understand that Euro summer is Aussie winter. Although the winters here are very mild. We have a dog but we can arrange for her to go elsewhere for the period of the exchange. Happy to discuss options.

The space

We have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two lounges, a double garage and driveway, and a backyard. Our home was built in 2013 and is a great family home - as you can see from the photos it's very family friendly, with kids beds, toys, and a good sized backyard. Our house can accommodate up to 4 adults and 3 children at one time. Beds: Master bedroom - queen size bed (Sleeps 2 adults) Bedroom 2 - kids single bed, and can have a double mattress on the floor (Sleeps 1 kid and upto 2 adults) Bedroom 3 - bunk bed with single mattresses (Sleeps 2 kids) We have a spare mattress which we can put into one of the kids rooms to accommodate more guests (pictured) - that's why I have listed the total occupancy for 4 adults. For one person/couple, however, this would be just a mattress on the floor, so it would depend if you were comfortable with that. In the kids bedrooms, one has a single bed, the other has bunk beds with single mattresses. We have a large, open plan living room with kitchen and dining table. There is also a second lounge which is used mostly as a playroom.

Guest access

Single storey house.

Notes

We have a Golden Retriever (Dusty) who may be present at the house.

Rachel

My husband and I have always travelled a lot, and since having our children (now 6 and 3) we are hoping to continue. Especially as now Australia's international borders are opening up. We travel during the Australian school holidays as we are both primary school teachers, therefore our house is often available a couple of times a year. In 2022 we are going to Europe for 6 weeks, from 25th June to 5th August. We would be very interested in any sim/non sim/ globe exchanges, in this time. We are looking at UK, France, Italy and Croatia, but are open to other destinations. We may also be away in January 2022. Our house is a 3 bedroom, single storey house with a backyard. We are located 10 minutes from the surf beaches of the Surf Coast, the Great Ocean Road and 15 minutes into Geelong CBD, which is the second largest city in Victoria but maintains a small town feel.
