Our home is 2-bedrooms (each with an ensuite bathroom) and all of the modern amenities you need while still maintaining Italian charm and curated furnishings. We occupy the entire top floor of the building and have a large terrace overlooking both the Tuscan/Umbrian countryside as well as the backside of the town center's Duomo. We love sitting out there in the morning with our coffee listening to the church bells and, of course, nothing beats our view with a spritz at sunset time!
Located in historic Città della Pieve, which is in Umbria, the greenheart of Italy (154 km from Rome and 138km from Florence). This is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the true tranquil Italian lifestyle while being close to all of the action that nearby cities provide. Extremely well-connected, we're only 10 minutes from the Tuscan border & the Chiusi train station, 15 minutes from the A1 - Autostrada del Sole and a 2-hour drive from either coast.
The Space
Boasting rich Italian roots, this is a building from the 1800s which has been refurbished to equip modern amenities while preserving the historic charm. Every room has its own style and reflects a mix of Spanish, Mexican and Italian flourishes.
Guest Access
The entrance of our building is right down the road from the town's city center - just a few minute's walk. Once inside, you go up a flight of stairs to get to our door and then there's another flight of stairs to reach our floor. From there, we occupy the entire floor, which is one-level.
Parking is subject to the street availability in the town. We can often park right in front of the house but are never guaranteed a spot.

Neighbourhood
Although there is so much to enjoy in Città della Pieve, take note that the city is also extremely well located. It's easy to travel (around an hour or less by car) to nearby cities like Perugia, Siena, Orvieto, Montepulciano, Val d'Orcia, Pienza, and Assisi. Even closer is Lake Trasimeno or the hot springs at San Casciano dei Bagni. Just a little further drive is Rome and Florence, and by train this would be even easier for a perfect day trip. If you are lucky enough to catch one of the many festivals, be prepared for great fun. Visit www.cittadellapieve.org for the calendar of events .
Getting to my home
It's easiest to come by car but the closest train station is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme and it's a 10-minute drive from the town. There are cabs typically available outside the station to drive you into town.
Nearest airport
St. Francesco d'Assisi, Perugia Airport is a 45-minute drive from town. Fiumicino Airport in Rome is a 2-hour drive.
Getting Around
Once in the town, everything is extremely walkable. Restaurants, bars, shops, historic churches/art are within a 15-minute walking radius. To enjoy the sites outside of town, we recommend you rent a car, but there's also the option of taking day trips via train (closest station: Chiusi-Chianciano Terme - 10 minute drive).

Luz
Hi, I'm Luz! I'm originally from Mexico and raised my 3 kids in California. A few years ago when all the kids fled the nest, my husband and I made the decision to buy property in Italy and open a small bed and breakfast. That's always been a dream of mine and I've loved the experience. We used to do home exchanges back in California so thought to try it again! We hope you'll love our home as much as we do :)
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
