Our home is a bright 2-bedroom and study upper-level townhouse in Pitt Meadows, about 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver by car or by the West Coast Express train (which runs on weekdays). There is no private garden, but lovely trees surround the complex and an be found throughout the neighbourhood. There is one assigned parking spot and also off-street parking.
The neighbourhood is very quiet but highly walkable, with everything one needs within a few blocks of our home.
We're both allergic to cats, and hardwood floors would be tough on dogs.
The Space
The townhouse is light, airy, and spacious. The living area is upstairs, with just the entryway at ground level.
The upper floor opens into a large, bright, open-plan living and dining area (almost 300 sq ft of living room alone) with hardwood floors throughout and abundant natural light. A separate kitchen connects to a cozy breakfast nook/office extension with its own private deck — perfect for morning coffee or quiet work.
A dedicated home office/den (160 sq ft) with French doors is accessed from the living room and has a sliding door onto a generous main deck. It provides an ideal work-from-home setup for academics.
The main bedroom (175 sq ft) features a walk-in closet and a private en suite bathroom with shower, toilet, and vanity. A second bedroom (131 sq ft) is quieter and overlooks the main deck. The second bathroom includes a soaker tub with separate shower. A convenient in-unit laundry completes the floor. The office can be used as a bedroom with a blowup mattress provided.
The passageways are wide and the rooms generously sized. There are quiet ceiling fans in most rooms, and although the space is not designer, it is very comfortable. The hardwood floors are creaky.
Appliances and mechanical systems are modern and energy-efficient, with quiet ceiling fans in most rooms. There is a gas fireplace in the lounge area.
One dedicated parking space is included, and there is also street parking.
Total interior area: ~1,485 sq ft
Guest Access
At the front door there is a shoe rack and a set of stairs to the main level where the living areas are laid out quite spactiously. So, once you have walked up the stairs, everything is on one level.
Notes
Our neighbours are friendly but not intrusive. Guests must abide by our strata rules, which are reasonable and which we will share with you. Contraventions of the rules will result in a fine, which we will have to pass on to you.

Bethan
We are Naomi and Bethan, two women in our 60s. We're both South African and Canadian. We love both countries. Our families are in South Africa and we're want to spend more time with them. We'd love to find a way to be in South Africa for 6 months or more each year. We have no children or pets, although we love dogs, and one of us is allergic to cats...
