Neighbourhood
The flat is in a residential road with one end blocked off for motorised traffic. It is a very friendly neighbourhood. Typical for London though, there are council estates with moderate to severe deprivation near-by and hence there is some risk of crime and caution with your phones etc is advised as well as keeping windows and doors secure.
Lots of great little shops in Walthamstow Village (10min walk) and all around Walthamstow, great gastro pubs, amazing fish and chips, fantastic ex-industrial sites with artisan breweries and gin places, arty places (including the William Morris museum in the gorgeous Lloyds Park), in-door climbing places, the must-see "God's Own Junkyard" neon light museum that will blow your mind, the 15th century Ancient House and 12th century St Mary's church with award winning cemetery garden (featured in Gardener's World). Then there is Epping Forest a short bus or overground ride away, the Walthamstow Wetlands another short bus ride away. Etc etc etc. All before you have even set foot into central London.... You get the idea!

City Airport: 25-30min drive, about 1 hour 10min by public transport
Stansted: 40min drive, about 1 hour by public transport
Heathrow: 1 1/2 hours drive, 1 1/2 hours by public transport
St Pancras International Station (Eurostar): 55min drive, 35min public transport
Getting Around
Lots of public transport options to get around to Epping Forest or into the centre of London - buses, Victoria Line, two Overground Lines.
You can also hire bicycles incl ebike from various places.
It is very easy to get an Uber of course although with London traffic you are often better off with Public transport or bicycle.
