General Overview
Please note: We're in the process of selling the appartments and can only accept visitors on short rather notice, I'm afraid.
Our home is a bright and welcoming apartment in the heart of Monopoli’s beautiful historic old town, just a few steps from the Adriatic Sea. It is a place where everyday life feels like a holiday, surrounded by white stone streets, charming cafés, small restaurants and the relaxed rhythm of southern Italy.
What makes our home truly special is its unique outdoor space. The spacious rooftop terrace offers breathtaking panoramic views over the rooftops of the old town on one side and the sparkling Adriatic on the other. Whether you’re enjoying breakfast at sunrise, reading in the afternoon breeze or watching the sunset with a glass of wine, it quickly becomes your favourite place to be.
On the apartment level, there is also a big, sea-facing balcony with a breakfast table, where you can enjoy your morning coffee in the first sunshine while looking out over the water. Open the doors and you’ll hear the old town slowly coming to life as the fresh sea air drifts through the apartment.
The apartment itself is spacious, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. It is comfortably and simply furnished rather than luxurious, creating a relaxed and authentic atmosphere. It is a home for people who appreciate character, generous spaces and an exceptional location more than polished perfection.
The Space
The kitchen is simple, practical and fully equipped for everyday cooking. It includes a gas stove, oven, refrigerator, air fryer, coffee machine and everything you’ll need to prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a relaxed dinner on the terrace. While it isn’t a designer kitchen, it has everything required for a comfortable stay and reflects the authentic character of the home.
Guest Access
Please note that the apartment is located on the second floor of a historic building and is accessible only by stairs. There is no elevator, so it is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with significant mobility or knee issues.
The rooftop terrace is located one floor above the apartment and is reached via another staircase. As is typical in many historic Italian buildings, the staircases are relatively narrow. For most guests this is part of the charm of living in the old town, but it is important to be aware of before booking.
Notes
We share our home with two affectionate and very friendly cats, who are very much part of the family. They live both inside the apartment and on the rooftop terrace and are easy to care for.
We’re looking for guests who genuinely enjoy animals and are happy to give them a little love and attention during their stay—feeding them, making sure they have fresh water and, of course, sharing a few cuddles. In return, they’ll happily keep you company and make you feel right at home.

Neighbourhood
Everything you need is within easy walking distance. The neighbourhood offers a wonderful choice of restaurants, gelaterias, bars and cafés, as well as small everyday shops such as a greengrocer, butcher and bakery.
Several beaches can also be reached on foot, and the historic old town and city centre are right on your doorstep. For anything a little further away, there are plenty of bicycles and e-bikes available to rent via app, making it easy to explore Monopoli and the surrounding area without a car.
Getting to my home
The apartment is located in Monopoli’s pedestrian-only historic centre, so there is no regular parking directly outside the building. However, it is possible to drive to the front door in the early morning to load or unload luggage.
Several public parking areas are within walking distance. Monthly parking permits are available for around €30, or you can use the daily paid parking nearby. There are also free parking areas a little further away if you don’t mind a slightly longer walk. In short, parking is generally straightforward, with options to suit different needs.
Nearest airport
Bari and Brindisi, both approximative. 45km away.
Getting Around
Getting here is easy. Monopoli is conveniently located between the airports of Bari and Brindisi, both of which are less than an hour’s drive away and offer numerous international connections.
If you prefer travelling by train, there are excellent rail connections from across Italy, including a direct overnight train from Milan that stops in Monopoli. By car, the town is easily reached via the motorway, making it a comfortable destination no matter how you choose to travel.

Markus
We are Jacqueline and Markus, a life coach and a writer/photographer, living in Italy most of the time and traveling frequently. Whenever we are abroad, we love to have someone staying in our apartment to look after our two cats.
At the same time, we are happy to share our beautiful home with guests while we travel. We see it as a mutual exchange of care and trust — a chance for someone to enjoy our special place by the sea, while giving our cats the love and presence they need.
If you love animals, appreciate a warm and creative home, and feel comfortable stepping into a lived-in space with heart and soul, you will feel very welcome here.
