General Overview
(At the moment, we're only looking for long-term simultaneous home exchanges (minimum 3 weeks). Our main priority is a long-term exchange on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, in early 2027, but we'd also love to explore opportunities in the United States.)
Our home is a charming three-storey traditional house in one of Bergen's cozy neighbourhoods. It consists of two separate units, but we have access to and use the entire house as one home.
The house has two bedrooms (with the possibility of a third sleeping area), two kitchens, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining area, and a lovely balcony where you can enjoy your morning coffee or the long summer evenings.
The main living spaces are on the second floor, where you'll find the kitchen, dining area, living room, and balcony. The bedrooms are located on the first and third floors, providing plenty of privacy. One of the living rooms is currently set up as a dressing room, but it can easily be adapted as an additional bedroom if needed.
As the house is over 100 years old, it has plenty of character and original charm while offering everything you need for a comfortable stay in Bergen.

Neighbourhood
Our home is located in Nordre Steinkjellersmauet, one of Bergen's charming old cobblestone streets. The neighbourhood is peaceful and full of traditional wooden houses, while still being just a short walk from everything the city has to offer.
Within 5 minutes on foot, you can reach Bryggen, the city centre, cafés, restaurants, museums, grocery stores, and the famous Fløibanen funicular. From there, you have easy access to Mount Fløyen and countless hiking trails with spectacular views over Bergen and the surrounding fjords.
Despite being so central, the area feels quiet and residential. It's the perfect base for exploring Bergen on foot, and there's no need for a car. Public transport is also within easy walking distance if you'd like to explore the rest of the city or take day trips further into the fjords.
Getting to my home
If you're arriving from the airport, the light rail takes you directly to the city centre, followed by a short walk to the house. There is no need for a car during your stay.
Nearest airport
Bergen Airport (Flesland) is approximately a 15–20 minute drive by taxi or Uber, or around 45 minutes by the Bergen Light Rail (Bybanen), which runs directly between the airport and the city centre. From the city centre, it's just a short walk to our home.
Getting Around
Getting around is very easy from our home. Most of Bergen's main attractions are within walking distance, so you can explore the city on foot. The bus station, light rail (Bybanen), and ferry terminals are all easily accessible, making it simple to travel around Bergen or take day trips to the fjords and nearby villages.

Celine
Hi! I'm Celine, a 27-year-old teacher living in an old and charming house in one of the cozy cobblestone streets of Bergen, Norway, together with my boyfriend.
We're planning a long trip to Australia next year and are hoping to spend a couple of months on the Sunshine Coast (around January to April/May 2027).
We're new to home exchange, but we love the idea of sharing homes and experiences with like-minded people. It would be amazing to find someone who dreams of visiting Bergen and is interested in swapping homes with us while we're away.
Looking forward to connecting!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
Living room downstairs, used mainly as a wardrobe. A bed could be added in here for longer exchanges.
Living room downstairs, with a second kitchen we use for storage and laundry.
Bathroom on 1st floor. Definitely a little outdated, but we're making the most out of it. The toilet is separate, as they usually were back in the days. There is also a bathroom on the 3rd floor, which has both toilet and a shower, but the shower isn't really used as the water will spill all over.
Are you sure?
