General Overview

Our family home is located in Nelson, at the top of New Zealand's South Island, known for its sunshine, beaches, wineries, and easy access to some of the country's most beautiful natural landscapes. The house enjoys lovely elevated views and all day sun, with comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing after a day of exploring. We are a family of four and our home is well suited to couples or families looking for a base to experience the region. Nelson is ideally located for visiting Abel Tasman National Park, famous for its golden beaches and coastal walking tracks, as well as Kahurangi National Park and Nelson Lakes National Park. Swimming, hiking, cycling, kayaking, wineries, galleries, and local markets are all within easy reach. Our home has a relaxed, lived-in feel with plenty of books, plants, and spaces to unwind. One of our favourite things is sitting with a coffee and enjoying the sunrise over the hills and changing light throughout the day. You can walk into town and to the beach. We have a friendly cat who may need care during your stay (or alternative arrangements can be discussed depending on the exchange dates).

Jen

We are a family of four from Nelson, New Zealand. Jen is a psychotherapist and yoga therapist, and James is a community-based physiotherapist. We have two children aged 8 and 10 who love exploring new places, swimming, nature, and family adventures. We moved to New Zealand from Canada and enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that's hiking, beach walks, cycling, or simply enjoying the beautiful landscapes around us. We also love good food, local culture, and discovering the unique character of different places. We are respectful, responsible homeowners who take great care of our home and would do the same for yours. We enjoy homes that feel lived in and loved, and we appreciate the opportunity that home exchange offers to experience a place more like a local than a tourist. We are hoping to spend some time in Europe next year, particularly Italy, and are excited about the possibility of sharing our home and beautiful Nelson lifestyle with another family. Our home has wonderful views over the surrounding landscape, and one of our favourite things is sitting in the sun with a coffee while taking in the outlook.
