Our Home in the Heart of the Alps

Our apartment is located in the historic fortified town of Briançon in the French Alps, inside the remarkable UNESCO-listed old town of Cité Vauban. To reach it, you cross two drawbridges and enter a magical medieval world filled with narrow streets, historic walls, and alpine views.

The apartment sits on the second floor directly on the main street of the old town and has been completely renovated with great care and love. This is our second home, created as a special place where we come every year to celebrate the most magical Christmas season — and to enjoy the mountains during other times of the year as well.

Because this home means so much to us, we are not interested in renting it out. Instead, we are looking for people through home exchange who will care for it as if it were their own home, just as we will treat yours with the same respect.

The Apartment

The apartment is spacious and bright, with views onto the lively main street and glimpses of the surrounding mountains.

Inside you will find:
• 3 bedrooms (one is currently used as a winter workspace/office)
• 2 bathrooms
• a large living room
• a fully equipped compact kitchen where you can cook everything you need

The living room and main bedroom are especially spacious and comfortable.

We also have a beautiful decorative fireplace, which adds a warm atmosphere to the space. However, for safety reasons, it has been sealed and is decorative only.

The apartment is equipped with electric floor heating as well as wall heating, making it very cozy during the winter months.
What you will love about this neighborhood
The apartment is surrounded by spectacular Alpine nature and sits next to one of the largest ski areas in the region: Serre Chevalier.

In winter, you can enjoy:
• world-class skiing
• snowboarding
• Alpine winter scenery

In summer, the region transforms into a paradise for:
• hiking and mountain adventures
• lakes and rivers
• beautiful alpine landscapes in every direction

This part of the Alps is also famous for having some of the most sunshine in the entire Alpine region, which makes it special in every season.

We are Lucie and Matěj, life partners from the Czech Republic who have been together for 15 years. For the past 8 years, we have been travelling, living and working around the world.

Together we run The Stories of Love Films, a wedding filmmaking brand focused on luxury weddings around the world, mostly in Europe. Our work has taken us to many beautiful places and made us truly appreciate different cultures, homes, food and people.

We also have a little 8-month-old baby boy, Elio. He is calm, happy, very smiley and a wonderful little travel companion.

I am 35 and Lucie is 30. We are non-smokers, we do not drink alcohol, and our party years are definitely behind us now that we are parents. 🙂 These days we love slow mornings, long walks by the beach, good restaurants, new flavours and peaceful family moments.

We are clean, respectful and caring guests, and we would always treat your home as if it were our own.
