Welcome to Hiša Brdo Hiša Brdo is a welcoming located in the quiet village of Grahovo ob Bači, surrounded by mountains, forests, and un-spoilt nature. The peaceful setting makes it an ideal choice for guests looking to relax, disconnect, and enjoy the outdoors. We have our own gravel track leading to our very own part of the Bača river where you can swim. The house offers a calm and comfortable atmosphere, with secure parking, and space for storing and drying outdoor gear. It’s a friendly and practical base for travellers exploring western Slovenia. The Space

Our home is a 3 bedroom house with one main bathroom for a double and single bedroom, and one en-suite for the other double room. All rooms are very spacious indeed. We can sleep 6 people in fixed beds. The views from our terraces and balconies are amazing, along the valley you can see Matajeur, which is a mountain bordering Slovenia with Italy. The sun is in this area from 12:00 until sunset, which is normally a beautiful sight. We have a living room, dining room and kitchen with all the main appliances. The house is heated using oil and open fires in the living and dining rooms burning wood. There is also a wood fired oven which heats two radiators in the bedroom above.

Guest Access

We have two floors, ground floor is the Living room, kitchen and dining room, one set of stairs leading to the three bedrooms.

Notes

We run our house as a guesthouse / b&b from March until end of October. The rest of the time it is available to swap. There could be some availability during other periods but we would have to discuss this further.

Getting to my home

If you fly the closest airports are Ljubljana or Trieste, both just over an hour from us. We have a bust stop right outside our house and there is a train station 2km from us in the village of Grahovo ob Bači. Ideally you will need a car for travelling distances.

Getting Around

Supermarkets are in Tolmin (25 minute drive), and there is a shop in Podbrdo (10km) or Most na Soči (10km). Ideally you will need a car.

Roger

Married to Louise for 35 years, living the dream in Slovenia for the last 6 years, but from the UK. We are both in our late 50's and looking for swaps mainly in the winter months for warmer climates. We have two very kind and well trained Jack Russell terriers who love to travel with us. We own a guesthouse and work from March until end October so have plenty of experience hosting and plenty of time off in the winter. We are new to home exchanges but looking forward to hearing from like minded people.
