Hospitality
Hospitality Description: Our house is big enough to comfortably host 1 or 2 (or slightly less comfortably 3 or 4) persons while we are also here. Thus you get more flexibility with the dates of your trip and an option to become a part of our family for a few days. You can be as independent as you like: your sleeping quarters will be on a separate floor, and you will share the rest of the house with us.

General Overview
Freiburg is a picture-perfect 900-year-old German city with stunning architecture and beautiful nature all around it.
The famous Black Forest (Schwarzwald) starts right at our doorstep: the mountainous forest is huge and the air is so clean that many villages have a status of "air resorts". There is hiking and mountain biking all year round, downhill and cross-country skiing in winter, mushroom-hunting in fall, swimming in mountain lakes in summer - enough to keep you busy during your visit. It is also a mineral springs area: if you like spa experiences, we have several spa resorts within an easy drive.
On the other side of Freiburg we have the volcanic wine region on Kaiserstuhl: the warmest and the sunniest part of Germany. Beautiful vineyards, crisp white wines, gorgeous sunsets, excellent restaurants and a mediterranian vibe. If you cross the Rhein River into France (about half an hour drive from our house) you can explore the beautiful Alsace region, with more wineries, cute little villages covered with flowers, wine festivals and again, endless hiking trails.
During your stay with us you can make easy day trips to three countries: Germany (Baden-Baden, Karlsruhe, the Rhein Falls, Konstanz), France (Colmar, Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Selestat) and Switzerland (Basel, Zurich, Bern, Lucern) - either by car or by public transport.
Europa-park - the biggest amusement park in Europe - is also within a 30 minute drive.
Our region is beautiful in all seasons, including winter: we have some of Europe's most picturesque Christmas markets. My favorite one is Ravenna Schlucht: nestled under a towering 40-meter-high railway viaduct deep in the Black Forest, it really is like a fairy-tale.
Our house is very close to the center of Freiburg but the neighborhood is very quiet. We are about 10 minutes away by tram from the city center, the tram and bus stops are within a 3-minute walk.
The Space
As our guest, you will have the entire spacious and cosy attic level of our house at your disposal. There is a guest bedroom with a 180cm double bed, a closet for your belongings, a desk in case you want to work, and two big windows with a beautiful view towards the church and the garden. It is very quiet, you only hear the birds.
You can also use the adjacent room as your living room or as a second bedroom if you are more than 2 persons. You will have your own bathroom and you are welcome to share the kitchen and the garden with us.
Guest Access
Your room would be two levels up from the ground level, so there will be some stair-climbing - it might be challenging for very small children or people with limited mobility.

I live in beautiful Freiburg in southern Germany, between the magical Black Forest and the famous wine regions of Alsace and Kaiserstuhl. We are 20 minutes away from France and 45 minutes away from Switzerland - you get to explore three countries. I will be happy to share my home with you in exchange for your hospitality.
