Our home is a sunny two bedroom modern apartment with fabulous sea views on one side and mountains on the other side…A beautiful shared pool and well maintained private secure area…We are close to the beach with bars , restaurants and stunning mountain walks.

The Space

The apartment is overlooking the mediterranean sea in las terrazas del mar, in la herradura. It has stunning views of the sea and mountains surrounding the cerro gordo.It is situated on a hill ., for this reason i would recommend a car or moped for getting up and down from the beach /village in the summer heat.The pool is beautifully kept by the live- in maintenance man and is safe for children too.

Guest Access

2 nd floor apartment with an elevator but a few steps to access it....The pool area also has steps down to access it. The apartment has an  electric gate for entry so is safe and private. There is lots of parking spaces for cars either inside the gated area or outside on a very quiet road

'La Herradura' is a  perfect destination for families, or fun loving people to switch off, unwind and enjoy a slice of a quiet Spanish coastal village, there is even a 'secret' beach which we may tell you about.......................!

Neighbourhood

A pretty , sleepy little beach town best for relaxing, swimming, and enjoying good food .Its surrounded by bigger towns, Nerja and Almunecar, with countless options for different  beaches , even some' nudist'ones to experience.....'

Getting to my home

Driving a car is recommended as the hill can be challenging in Summer, taxis do operate , its about 8 euros up from the village.There are buses from Malaga airport or more regularly from the city centre bus station. plenty of local cheap buses to choose from to get you around.

Malaga Airport is 50 mins drive...

Getting Around

car is the best option from the airport but....,if not,..Its a 15 min walk to the mini supermarket at the beach, there are mopeds, scooters etc for hire in the village..

We are a recently retired couple who want to explore new places now that we have more time. We are hoping to exchange in Europe at various times of year including Christmas. 
We have a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in Southern Spain, in a small village called La Herradura(the horseshoe) with a shared pool, and only a walk to the  village restaurants , bars ,and beach… 
The nearest Airport is Malaga, which is one hours drive. 
The historical city of Granada with the Alhambra is only one hour drive from  the apartment. La Herradura is surrounded  by white villages such as Frigiliana and Competa. Seville is only a three hour drive with good train links to all major cities via  Malaga. 
Sierra Nevada ski resort is an hour and half away and is an incredible experience to swim in the morning and ski in the afternoon. 
Walking and cycling are a joy in La Herradura with many trails and beautiful woods all near to the coast. There are countless beaches and coves to choose from the very quiet to the busier beaches. snorkeling and diving and water sports are easily available. The village has many options of bars restaurants shops, gym and yoga,  painting classes and walking trips are all available.  La Herradura is very family friendly safe and chilled.
