Just 8Km from central Melbourne, this single-story free-standing brick dwelling is in a group of 14 houses sharing common gardens. The house also has its own private compact garden and is at the back with no traffic driving past. It has a modern well-fitted kitchen and new bathrooms. A nearby park (5 minutes walk) has a new children’s playground with extensive creative landscaping and play equipment. There is a cafe with excellent coffee just across the road. There are two tram routes to the city, both about 7 minutes walk. Both trams take about 40 minutes to Melbourne CBD with access to a wide variety of cultural and culinary destinations. Melbourne is known for its world-class sporting events (Grand Prix, Australian Open Tennis), live theatre and high standards of music -- from jazz to classical. Our arts precinct, including the National Gallery of Victoria, features both international and local artists of high calibre. Greater Melbourne has bayside and ocean beaches where you can enjoy various water sports and activities The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes walk, or in a further 5 to 10 minutes (or short tram ride) there is a local shopping hub with restaurants serving a variety of cuisines.

The Space

The house sleeps 5 and amenities include: - 3 Bedrooms - 2 bathrooms (one is the master/ensuite) - Formal lounge/living room and adjacent dining room - Family area/kitchen and informal dining. The master bedroom has a queen bed and master/ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has 2 king single beds with mattresses that can zip together into a king bed. The third bedroom is used as a study, and it has a sofa than can be folded down and used as a wide single bed. The house is all electric with split system air conditioning (heating and cooling). The stove top is electric induction cooking.

I am retired from a medical career and have adult independent children and grandchildren. I worked in Malaysia for two years early in my career and have enjoyed travel mostly in the UK, a bit in Europe and Asia and the US. I love camping and holidays in Australia. I ride my bike most days. There are wonderful bike trails all over Melbourne, and I do most of my supermarket shopping on my (electric) bike. My partner and I are new to house exchanging and looking forward to exchange experiences both in Australia and overseas.
