General Overview

Our home is in a prime location. It's on a quiet, dead-end street, and it's walking distance from the wonderful Multnomah Village full of shops and restauarants. It's also close to some wonderful parks. The house is accessible (because our son is in a wheelchair), and we've recently updated and modernized it. It's full of character-- plants, art from our travels, and a bunch of records to fill the space with music! It's spacious and open, and it sits on a large lot full of native greenery. There is outdoor seating in the front and back.

The Space

Our house is nicely segmented with a social side and a sleeping side. On the left side of the house as you enter is the living room, kitchen, dining room and family room. All are open and spacious with a nice amount of natural light. On the right side of the house down a hallway are the bedrooms. The first bedroom (guest bedroom) has a queen, the second bedroom (our son's bedroom) has a twin, and the third bedroom is through the office and is the large, primary bedroom with a king. There is a hallway bathroom serving the first two bedrooms, and there is an en suite bathroom in the primary bedroom. The house also has a 500 sq ft. basement with a queen size bed. A door at the end of the hallway leads down to this space.

Guest Access

There are 2 floors, but everything is on the main floor unless someone is staying in the basement. Front door and garage are both entrance points via keypad.

Notes

A car loaner is possible on a case-by-case basis.

Neighbourhood

The Multnomah Village neighborhood is a gem. There are numerous parks (Gabriel, Spring Garden, Woods Memorial) and a cluster of shops and restaurants all within 10 minutes walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and green, but it's also plenty close to the rest of the city, and it's a minute from accessing I5 north or south.

Getting to my home

There is a bus that lets off very close to our house, but the easiest access is via car.

Nearest airport

PDX is about 20-30 minutes away.

Getting Around

There is food, drink and shops within walking distance. There is also a city bus that runs within a minute's walk. Having a car is recommended, but it depends on personal preference.

Oriana

Hi! My husband, Brian, and I have a 10-year-old son, Avery. We lived abroad for 8 years as high school and elementary school teachers and loved exploring new places. We lived in Mexico, Brazil, and Bulgaria! We moved back to the USA when Avery was two and half and have settled in here, but we keep up the traveling as much as life allows. We operate mostly on the school year calendar and try to take advantage of our breaks and vacations. Avery has a rare neurological disorder that causes significant disabilities and medical complexities, so sometimes we travel with an additional person like his grandma or a caregiver to help us with his needs and care. Exchanges within a day or two drive of home is easiest, but during longer breaks we're open to exchanges further away that may require a flight!
